Very cool song, you have some strong diverse sounds as intro hooks, and add more sounds later, not over-using anything. The percussion is all fine, high energy and things are mixed well. A longer version with extra solos and rhythm breaks would be nice. Lots of small extras are added to tie things together in very creative fashion. Music flows while the changes keep popping up. A skill learned, but not often taught

glokraw,
Thank you for the review, I appreciate it (assuming you're talking about my song)! I am now listening to your song "Finding the Gateway": I am pretty sure I hear some small critters running around in the snow
. But seriously, it sounds nice and relaxing. I like it!

'You Have Until Sunrise'
A phrase used by enforcers to motivate surrender among those they will soon subdue.
Made with Zebralette 3 and Hive 2
I added the song to my album, 'The Secret Escape Of Wars', which has some other songs made with U-he instruments. Near the bottom of the list

I put a new song in my music website called "We Should Adore"; it's the song on top. It has Repro-5, Hive, some non-u-he keys, and Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like it, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me a link if you don't have a recent thread here). Here is my link:

This rock 'n roll track brings my soul back to where I once lost it: Helsinki.

Recorded in Linux Mint Cinnamon
DAW: Reaper (Linux native version)

Guitar: Yamaha Revstar
Drums: Ugritone

@ bulevardi: I love the opening tone, and what to me is classic rock beat launched at 8 seconds. I think reprising that for a couple minutes to conclude the song would be fun. The different themes and tonal variations in the middle are nice. I admit to playing back at 95% speed to pick up on the fun syncopations and beats going on, and focus on the various parts. Age related, I do that on many songs.
For fun, I took around 25 seconds from about 1:14, cut off the first 8 seconds, and pasted the 25 seconds as the intro to the intro...fit pretty nice with a little trimming
Happy 2025!

I really like those keyboard glissands, the dives/risers, and their transitions. The organ sounds, whammy solos, and speedy keys parts suit the energy. From the peanut gallery, I think I would have ended with a longer portion of the reverbed vibrating swelling synth, and extended and faded that last riser. The bass and percussion are solid and fun as ususal! As Are the guitar tones.aaron aardvark wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 5:38 am I put a new song in my music website called "We Should Adore"; it's the song on top. glokraw,
Happy 2025! Thank you for reviewing my song, I appreciate it! Now listening to "A River Out of Eden": when I think of tropical waterfalls, I primarily think of Maui and Kauai (that included an amazing helicopter ride)....and a large one in Dominica. Yes, I think your song would be very appropriate for water fall videos. Very nice and relaxing!

Hope you get to visit there again soon. Sadly, the LaHaina Maui locals that lost all in the august 2023 fire are being financially strangled by massive SMA building permit red tape, bureaucrats moving crucial boundary lines, and redefining terminology. Not to mention insurance companies happy to delay or deny payment. The burned-out hulk of Mick Fleetwoods restaurant was apparently spared the wrecking ball by some $$$lawyer$,

while the surroundings are burned-out lots.

I can afford to go to Maui again, but I'm afraid I would be very upset to see Lahaina destroyed. I usually stay in Kaanapali, which is pretty close to Lahaina. I would imagine I will go there again at some point; maybe after it gets rebuilt somewhat? I read they buried the Lahaina wreckage in a big landfill "temporarily" in Olowalu, Maui, which is close to the coast. There's not much in Olowalu, but I have had good snorkeling there several times. You gotta wonder what kind of toxic material is going to end up in the ocean there.

The LaHaina work crews were supposed to go through each property to remove chemicals, solvents, paints, fuels etc Hopefully they were thorough. Old wood construction that had toxic water-proofing, applied or infused, might be an issue. They claim the plastic burrito debris wrappings will last until a permanent site is agreed on. Time will tell
The site they used was also a spiritually important area to some indigenous local religions.

glokraw,
It was roughly 30 years ago, North of San Diego, I went on a biplane ride (with my wife) in a plane very similar to the one you showed; I think the paint job was virtually the same. It was fun to do once. Very different than flying in your typical Cessna. I also went on a hot air balloon ride in the same area at a different time. A very very different experience. You can be a thousand feet in the air, and easily hear dogs barking down below. Because I am 6'-3" tall, the flame was extremely hot for me at times; that was the worst part.
