It's amazing how some people will immediately go to the negative when considering someone's intentions and actions. Instead of assuming and alluding to wrong doing, why not ask the person directly?

Alternatively, they just took a look at what that person has sold in the past and drew their own conclusions.

I did PM that person and the answer he/she wrote back was a bit on the unbelieveable side. I won't repost it here of course.

I don't think a separate thread is necessary. If Ben thinks it should be locked up like HPC, then that's different, but a separate thread alone won't stop people from grabbing codes without saying they did.

I post my extra codes here when I remember. I always know it's a possibility someone might try to profit from it, but most of the time, another member claims it.

I just noticed in my Arturia account it says I can get a discount on Analog Lab Pro, but I already have it. Maybe becuase they released other synth plugins since my version was released, and it includes more presets?

No, it's just one version.

Hmmm.. ok thanks. I just updated it in ASC today and checked into it. It only has two instruments from the Augmented series of sounds. Does yours have some of the others from the Augmented line of presets?

There needs to be some way to force people to ask for the codes rather than lurkers just sucking them all up without a single thank you or notification they've been used.

Unless Ben has a mod actively checking forums for codes then doubt they can 'force' people to do this. If it's a concern then do what I do, ask people to PM you then you can vet them if you feel inclined (yeah, I have, ignored a couple of requests from people who had a history of selling lots of cheap plugs)

Just remember that if we abuse or allow abuse of the freebies that developers are kind enough to give us we may wake up one day and find there are no more freebies.

This very discussion thread was my idea lo those many years ago and that's worked out fairly well in keeping the bargains thread relatively clutter free at least until the last couple of days.

If there can't be a separate Codes thread (which would be easier to monitor) I'd be fine with requiring people to PM the member giving the code but that member would have to be willing to put up with the PM traffic.

The last thing we want to do is turn KVR into the wild west where the sharing of codes which may or may not be allowed to be transferred is permitted. For example if you get a code for buying Focusrite hardware should a person who didn't make such a purchase be allowed to benefit from that code and so on ?

Again if we want the freebies to continue we need to have at least some restraint and make sure we're not abusing the privilege.

I've always thought the best method is to post what you have (without serials/codes) and say the first to reply will get it via PM. Of course, some won't want the extra "work" of sending out those PMs.

I did that once, and I had to field several PMs all asking for the same code because updating the main thread wasn’t quick enough.

This is why I think all the grumbling is much about nothing. I don’t need extra work.

I always wondered how one person could get 10 codes....

I am a teacher. When we need some new equipment, it is not rare to make a purchase of let's say 20+ interfaces... therefore giving me 20+ codes for free software (which sometimes I don't use for my classes). I don't think there is anything shady here, just different circumstances.

I don't remember exactly (as I have V Collection X now), but I think recently (probably since Analog Lab V) they haven't been adding free presets for all their newly released instruments, so what you see is what it is, unfortunately.
