How to use a whole submix as a compression sidechain in Wavefrom 13 Free (submix not showing up as sidechain)?

I have a submix with vocals, and I want those to sidechain into a compressor on the rest of the instruments. How do I do this, because the submix doesn't show up in the dropdown from the sidechain in the compressor? Or is there another, better way that I'm missing?

That's the problem, it doesn't show up in the dropdown menu, only the tracks inside the submix show up

You need to create an extra track, name it appropriately, and send the other tracks to it (I'm not sure if you can send a submix output to another track? That might work too)

Thanks @dysjoint, I wasn't thinking of a subgroup folder when I wrote that - was thinking of the older way of doing it by routing all of the individual tracks to another normal track.

As of Waveform (Pro) 13.5, can we still not use a submix folder as a side chain input? Is there still a need for a workaround (creating a new track + send /return)?
I can't seem to get it to work but the current 13.5.15 version is also very buggy so I never know if the feature is missing or just not working.

Yeah, still doesn't work. I was also looking for a solution for this recently.
As already stated, use a separate track and route the output of the submix to this track. That's somehow annoying, but works.
Btw, you don't need sends or returns for that, just choose the track as output destination of the submix track in it's properties

Ah thanks, I used to use send/return.
Yea, it's quite annoying indeed, especially since I like to keep things tidy.
