Waveform Free 13

Before Waveform Free, I used several other free DAWs – LMMS, MPC Beats, and finally LUNA. I stuck with Waveform because it's the most user-friendly.
- easy to use, and every function displays tooltips when you hover the cursor.
- incredibly stable; I can't even remember the last time it crashed.
- runs great on older computers.
- wide range of GUI configuration options.
- clear and intuitive.
- seamlessly supports VST2, VST3, and AU plug-ins.
- unlimited tracks (instead of only 8 like the ones mentioned above, except for LUNA).
- freeze point feature is fantastic.
- many useful built-in effects.
- built-in synth and sampler.
I have nothing to complain about; it works and looks great.

I don't understand why people think cakewalk is better, I used cakewalk free for 8 months, when an announcement was sent saying that it would not get any more updated I quit and went to waveform free and to be honest waveform is better. First it comes with all basic effect that u need EQ, compressor, reverb etc, it comes with attractive, attractive is an instrument sampler like analog lab v, and it also comes with a synth with 50+ presets. In my opinion, u should be able to make a beat the minute u set up your DAW. 10/10.

The best free DAW you can get. Sleek UI, doesn't get in your way, just works. No track count limit and VST support means that its better than almost any entry level version of a daw (free/paid). Waveform Free is a blessing for students and folks from countries where conversion rate is so bad that you'll have to pay couple months of rent or more to buy a DAW. Tracktion team are extremely generous and have allowed people like me to make music and be creative. Waveform 13 also fixed a lot of stability issues and i haven't faced a single crash.

Congratulations for the new 12.5 version, so glad to test it on Linux and I see that support many LV2 plugins, some work, some crash Waveform, but is a great success.

Best Free DAW, no argument.

Totally Free and loads faster than Cakewalk (which has a laggy and cluttered GUI and requires you to reactivate every six months);

Minimum Requirement is so low that Waveform Free can even run optimally on dual core with 1Gig RAM which makes it better than Pro Tools First;

Has Pattern Generator for automatic basslines, chords and Melody creation, which makes it better than Pro Tools in terms of quick MIDI Sequencing;

The ability to load third party plugins makes it far better than Studio One Prime which is so limited that it is useless for producers who uses third party plugins a lot;

No limitations on number of tracks which makes it better than Ableton Live Lite (which allows you to create only eight tracks);

Easy to modulate and automate parameters.

This is the best FREE DAW. Try it out.
