I'm running the 13 demo...
$70 it's OK for the 13.1 MIDI players, Polytone, Repley, some minor workflow improvements etc...
MIDI Players on Microtonic is insane.

A drum machine like Microtonic/Drum Computer/Battalion maybe with some PM is exactly what they should make next, they haven't done a new drum machine for a while and it was once what they were famous for!liquidsound wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:45 pm I'm running the 13 demo...

I agree! v15 perhaps… or just upgrade ReDrum.SLiC wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:54 pmA drum machine like Microtonic/Drum Computer/Battalion maybe with some PM is exactly what they should make next, they haven't done a new drum machine for a while and it was once what they were famous for!liquidsound wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:45 pm I'm running the 13 demo...

ReDrum V2 would probably get some very positive attention....
An experimental Euclidian type sequencer (software Torso T1) would also be high up on my list for midi players...

Anyone has this problem with RRP and AB Live under Windows 11 with 4k monitor? It working fine in Cubase though! The GUI is messed up when not using auto scaling option, which show RRP correctly but blurry.

Oh! I solved it! I forgot that solution:

In Reason 13 you can load Reason Rack inside MuLab Plugin VST (yes, Reason Rack within Reason…) and use your MIDI plugin on a Reason instrument inside that Rack.liquidsound wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 3:39 pmWhen I use Reason 12 and I need a MIDI out from something like xfer records Cthulhu, I load MuLab Plugin in the Rack and put Cthulhu in it together with any VST I wish to send the MIDI to.
A modular set up within the Reason Daw.
The only limitation is that I can’t send MIDI to another Reason Synth or RE, just to VSTs within MuLab Plugin.
Quite powerful setup actually.
Another one is to use Blue Cat’s Patchwork.
Note: MuLab Plugin can function as a complete DAW (with Session View like Ableton) inside Reason. I never used it that way though.
Useful? Maybe…

I totally agree with you.crimsonwarlock wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 5:09 pmI'm sure there are DAWs that make this easy. My experiences with Reaper though, are different. Depending on how the plugin receiving the sidechain is setup, you have to select crossings in the routing matrix. Not fun at all.Jac459 wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:47 pm On other daws you just click sidechain button and choose the input.... I feel it pretty straightforward.
No, it is a very powerful way because you can connect all kinds of stuff in between that sidechain signal by simply connecting virtual cables. The big difference with a routing matrix is that you can only route signals from and to connections that are in the matrix (simply because it is pre-determined), while Reason's virtual cables can go anywhere you like. But this is the limited way to do sidechaining.
Which is all crazy simple to do in Reason. The fun way is to get an audio signal and transform it as a modulation (envelop followers or audio sidechain) that after you can feed everywhere ... You can use it to open a 303 filter or résonnance, change the FM ratio of a synth, you can have everything react to everything this way and create something really organic and alive....
I get the impression that you are not that proficient with Reason, as everything you mention above is among the simple things you can do in Reason. You can do way more complex things, and just as easy. This is somewhat possible with reason but it is much much more clumsy.
Some people need a tool for that, others know just how to do it with the old hardware methods(Finally they created a sidechain utility which is slightly better but not quite there)
One important caveat though: as my signature shows, I'm basically NOT using VST plugins, and much of the routing power in Reason comes from using Rack Extensions, that are in most cases specifically equipped for using Reason's virtual cable routing.
Since I moved back (2.5 on) exclusively to Reason (Ableton for almost 2 decades and 3+ years Bitwig), my productivity and creativity jumped to a new level.
Awesome environment.
Reaktor is an old companion of mine and it’s the only “outsider” in the mix.

I never use the mixer channels to do stuff like that because it interferes with the actual mixing.LaLivre wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 8:39 pm Does anyone have a tipp how to create an autopan effect in Reason (except the one with flipping the rack around and put the cable into mixerchannels pan CV)?
You can get the free KiloHearts stereo RE and automate that one.

Thanks, but I can automate pan in different ways, too. There is no need to download a special RE and automate a pan paramater there in reasons sequencer or by an extra LFO which automates Kilohearts pan.
Again: I am looking for a simple "autopan" way.
I think this Kilohearz Stereo RE is more like a widener, neither an autopan module.

It's of course hogwash for the most part of it nonetheless... for starters, a matrix and virtual cables are simply two different graphical ways to do the same thing. What connections are and are not possible/allowed has absolutely naught to do with it. Plus, of course the matrix in Reaper is just one particular way of making routings in Reaper. Personally I don't like it much and never use it - just like I don't use the cables in Reason (there's a setting to hide them, which I make use of).
Both Reason and Reaper have their own specific advantages in this regard - none of which he mentioned.

That's super easy ('fraid you need to flip the Rack though after all):
load an instance of Pulsar, hit tab, right click one of the CV outs of one of both LFOs, select the track you want to autopan and tick "Pan CV In" - done.
Now all you have to do is flip to the front again and tweak the LFO to your heart's content.
