Oh yeah, apart from the fact that Adobe Audition actually really is good software. Adobe enhanced what was already there. Is that not enough for you? Most software updates do this...strangely enough !rpc9943 wrote:I'm sorry but I do agree with Paul G. The same thing happened when Cool Edit Pro was bought out by Adobe. They piled on a bunch of almost insignificant features and left like one to three pretty decent stuff to entice us to pay out the cash. Either way I will buy T2, no matter what they do, but I kind of agree. It's like Mackie bought out, and now theyre like- hey ! look! its OURS now and we can make it support mackie mackie mackie! its like almost that they turned it into a commercial for buying their other freaking products! And yes it is "preliminary" to think of this stuff, but simply look at the features revealed so far. As of yet, the feature list looks more or less like it's going in that direction, and each new one seems to be more disheartening, with the notable and obvious exceptions. If those really are simple teases, then the jokes on us, but "what if we're right?" Is what we are trying to say.

So, Mackie make good hardware or 'ultra tactile soft-hardware' (whatever you want..it's still HARD-ware) and have asked Mr Storer if they can have a crack at Tracktion, probably paying him something along the way and feeding his family. He still gets to develop it, but they say..'dude, could you build in some good support for our hardware as well, because our fans would love it, we would love it and we think it would be a better product and besides, we pay you to do that..'
Do you actually think it's going to remain Mackie support free if they control the reins? I'd really like to know what beef you have with them. As far as I can tell, they're just another audio hardware company trying to sell products in a very congested market who want some complimentary software. How is that different to what other companies do? It's only a bad thing if they lock users out if they don't own some form of Mackie hardware. I can't see that happening though.
You could be right, you could be wrong. Either way, you're jumping the gun. I'm not a Mackie devotee, but I fail to see how you can be so presumtuous given the lack of information thus far.
