After a very long time, the Store in the Pigments app finally loaded, but now the downloads are queued and just sitting there, doing nothing.

Every year it's the same thing. Their server must be running in someone's closet.
I managed to download through the store in the actual plugin no issues. This was earlier today though.

i must admit, v6 is very fun to experiment with, the vocoder section can give wild results and i enjoy the modal section as well
when i tried v5 demo the multi-core mode was a nice surprise and it was running ok on my potato lap top but it was clunky and freezing for a bit when i was turning some knobs, on this version however it runs smoothly and now i can fully enjoy it
i agree with some people that it is not fat and full sounding like model 72 for example, i don't mind, if i want analog emulator i will use something else
overall fun and versatile hybrid with good enough sound and killer workflow and UI, great job Arturia

To get around this, sign in to your Arturia account on their website, go to 'My Products', search the page for your Explorations pack, click on 'See More' and you'll have download links there for Mac and Windows. This is how I was able to get hold of them.

bmanic wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:46 pm I keep making huge epic space opera pads in Pigments.. and they are 100% useless in actual music.

Another Space Pad bM (Google Drive, mp3, 2mb)

That single preset with just a few notes fills the entire frequency spectrum. :help:
You dont see "epic space opera" as "actual" music. Ok lmao.

Yeah tell me you havent *really* experimented with Pigments without saying those exact words. Pigments does SO much, its absurd, and it is not shoehorned or pigeonholed into one category like Avenger, for example, which basically caters to OOnz OOnz OOnz OOnz and not much else. Pigments represents literally all genres and sound signatures your brain can come up with, and it would be dishonest to claim anything less.

Hmm, just tried the demo. I like Current better for some reason. Tho it doesn't do as much. The UI maybe, not thrilled with the pigments UI (or the super short demo period). *shrug

It's funny because so many people praise Pigments for being intuitive and easy to use. And it should be, but i just don't have that experience. Its not complicated and makes sense but I find myself having to constantly relearn it after stepping away for a few months. I've also never really been able to wrap my head around the combinate things. I get they are modulation remapping (I think) but it's never felt as easy to use as Vitals or Phase Plants remap functions.

Current otoh is just a breeze. Granted, I've spent more hours with Current but even when I was new to it, it just flowed. But still, both Serum and Vital are something of a gold standard for usability in my books...

Pigments is an amazing synth, but yea.....Serum is just really, really fast. I can pop out presets on that synth like a madman

Current, pigments, serum... 3 great synths... Should add phase plant, Dune and Avenger, and you basically get the gold standards of synths.
Until zebra 3 arrives that is.

(I am not counting falcon, halion or Omnisphere, different category)

Couldn't get along with Avenger. But I did think it was pretty incredible. The thought of learning another monster turned me off. Phase Plant and Falcon are more than enough for deep diving weirdness... for now at least 😁

Enjoyed my first few hours with Pigments 6. Really quickly made an eerie pad with the modal engine. Also appreciating the filter drive. Have yet to check out the updated granular.
