@ Aaron: I hope you and your family, friends, home, business etc are all safe from the California fires. The devastation will be hard to comprehend for millions who have lived, worked, or vacationed in the areas now lost. Godspeed to all firefighters!

I put a new song in my music website called “It Will Really Pay”, it’s the song on top. It has Diva, some non-u-he synth, and plenty of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the song and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Leave me a link if you don’t have a recent thread. Here is my link:

The synth solo is a nice ear candy, great tone and melodic, without relying on earlier parts.
The intro really pops, and transitions smoothly. Kind of a Stevie Wonder clav on steroids, goes well with the guitar tone, and the levels are right. All kinds of cool percussion bouncing in the headphones, busy and well balanced, sounds like a real drummer, and percussion isn't easy to pull off, regardless of the source.
The bass is rich and full, and the multi-octave dive is a fitting conclusion.
Cheers

Here's a little ditty that's semi peaceful, all the sounds are Repro5 and Hive 2, with a little fuzzy reverb from Replika, nice for watching road trips, drone flights, or some snoozing
I added it to my 'Birds In Storms' collection at Bandcamp:

Love the acid rhythm evolving in the whole song. And the overall composition, guitar solo ^^aaron aardvark wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:27 am I put a new song in my music website called “It Will Really Pay”, it’s the song on top. glokraw,
Thank you for checking out my song and for your comments! I appreciate it! Now listening to your "Curves Ahead Next Ten Miles" song: it very much fits with the photo you provided. Very nice and relaxing. The guitar-like sound reminds me of The Cure (a compliment). I am into sporty cars, and used to live right next to a well known "Ricky Racer" mountain road. "Road & Track" and "Car & Driver" magazines sometimes go up the road to drive fast. Now I wouldn't drive fast on a foggy mountain road, that would be foolish. But the photo still reminds me of driving fast on that mountain road.

bulevardi,
Thank you for listening to my song, and for your reply; I appreciate it! Now listening to your song "What's up for 2025": kind of surprised it is guitar-oriented, since you're on the u-he forum, but I obviously play plenty of guitar myself. I like the song, it has nice melodies, and nice sound quality. I find it relaxing.

But I don't have a song "what's up for 2025", it's the name of that playlist.
However, my last song in there "Ruby on the Roba" is indeed guitar-oriented, but from somewhere in the middle, it changes to synths and they're all U-HE Hive, and then back to guitar.
I frequently combine the synths from U-HE with guitar, even if it's just a background organ to fill a silence gap.
But right here I also have a combo, starting with heavy synths, and near the middle it switches to guitars again:

I put a new song in my music website called "Capable Designs" (it's the song on top); please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor if you wish. It has some ZebraHZ, some non-u-he synths, and a lot of Presswerk compression. Here is my link to that song:

I have older song called "Space Rocket to Mars", that has received radio play; it is by far easiest to find at this direct link (no u-he on this song):

Hi, lot's of nice surprises in I Felt Your Power. The intro and energy are catchy, and the bassline solo is fine, but the ensuing guitar solo doesn't seem connected to that underlying bass. In contrast, the synth solo at 4 minutes is excellent and seems to both fit and embellish the underlying (great) raspy synth, which is very cool! Also the vocal wo-oh-oh-hey(?) at 56 seconds and 1:04 are great fun. Seems like you put in some great/fun work on these songs.
In Capable Designs, the opening vocal and oriental instrument add some nice mystic ambience, something I'd appreciate on a netflix or film soundtrack. The fast bassline emerging from the tablas/hindu sounding percussian and vocal is great. The guitar phrase that leads to the main vocal is a nice transition. Parts stay in bounds, and are well played. The percusion in both songs is excellent, lots of energetic rolls and accents. At the end, an extended reprise of the female vocal part would be a cool bookend. Nicely done
Cheers

glokraw,
Thank you for reviewing 2 of my songs, I appreciate it! I went to Maui last month; earlier I was apprehensive about seeing Lahaina after the fire. The news made it sound like 99% of Lahaina burned up, but it was a lot less than that. It was sad to see Lahaina damaged, but not as upsetting as I feared. From what I saw, the wreckage was gone and some rebuilding is happening. Looks like some temporary housing is there. Still had a good time overall; never seen so many whales before, and I have been to Maui roughly 10 times. Took a helicopter that flew around Maui and Molokai; that was great. Edit: now listening to "Birds In Storms": I would imagine life as a bird on the open sea during a storm would be very challenging and dangerous. Though I assume most survive. Life is challenging for animals and humans alike, though we usually survive our trials. I think your song is relaxing; I like it. Edit: Now listening to "The Night They Were Everywhere": I like this song even a bit more. It flows nicely. It is relaxing and has nice audio quality.

Great to hear you had a nice vacation, especially in an area that needs tourism. My older brother moved to Maui, for a workaholic retirement, and was at times a Sea-Captain of whale-watching trips, here's a review in case you crossed paths over the years:
https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserRev ... awaii.html
...but decades of chain smoking took his life. I remember he started smoking in 4th grade, having purloined some of our mom's cigs, and he turned green and threw up, but loved the experience and continued on. Seeing those initial effects was a memory that fully removed any desire I had to try smoking, so grateful for the awkward life lesson. RIP brother!
Great to hear that the whales are plentiful in those waters, such amazing creatures
Glad you enjoyed a couple of my tunes. A new one, 'Paid By The Grave', has all the sounds from Hive2, with some linux rakarrack effects. It's somber and long, and meant to be a backdrop for considering and praying about the horrible wars ongoing, large and small, and perhaps new ones brewing in the minds of evildoers. Or the diverse personal battles we are faced with.
https://open.spotify.com/track/70ysnOlJ ... f1c92548b6
My bandcamp collections are now each over 2 gig in size, so I started two more, one for cheerful tunes, called 'Almost Singing', and one for somber pieces, named 'Death Row Calling', which includes 'Paid By The Grave'. But I may still use Captains rights to add more songs wherever they seem to fit well. Anything over 750 meg, is bonus track territory

Zebralette 2 is a bit like a chameleon.
I wanted to make some music for the legendary OneSythChallenge (KVR OSC #193). Too little time - not finished.
Nevertheless, the first attempts turned into more
Maybe you can hear what crazy and wacky and normal, flattering sounds you can get out of the good old Zebralette 2. But I still can't mix.
I still take my hat off to this instrument aka the developers!
DAW: StudioOne 7
43 x Zebralette 2
3rd party plugins: Raum, ZRev, MSED, ProQ4, LinearPhaseMB, L1+UltraMaximiser (each only once)
Some presets come from OSC #105, others from the FactoryLibrary and the rest is all head scratching anyway.
Automations only for volume and pitch on some tracks.
Otherwise I only used DAW's own effects (ProEQs, Compressors, DualPans, Gates, OpenAirs, Beat/Analogue/GrooveDelay).
That's how it sounds and it's intentional that some ‘instruments’ sound like a crumpled tape recording ....
Have fun ....
