I always add plugins from the "+" sign located in the Output Panel and the Mixer Strip. That calls up my carefully organized and categorized plugin list with custom plugin display names.

("Custom Popup Menu" selected in Settings/Plugins/Plugins Selector)

So plugins with long default names like "bx_console AMEK 9099" become simply "Amek 9099" for more efficient viewing. (I'm sure you know all that but if someone is new to Waveform, the plugin manager organization functions are awesome and well worth using).

I don't ever have the browser open because I never use it and therefore it is wasted screen space. That goes for any DAW I own. I don't use the browsers and I hate Drag and Drop with an unbounded passion.

I've checked every place in WF Pro I can think of for a way to have a default preset load for plugins called up from that list.

There may be a way but I've yet to find it.......

Oh and my Win 11 version is 24H2 Build 26100.2894 in case that has any bearing on the resize issue.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't too sure.

The "+" only shows plugins. It doesn't show the presets. It doesn't load plugins with user-defined settings (as far as I know).

The Browser lists lots of things, including presets. If you have made a preset of a plugin+settings, you can easily add that plugin+settings to a track. Presets can also be loaded once a plugin has been added to a track.

You can get what you want (plugin+settings) but I'm pretty sure that you can't get it the way that you want (using only the "+"). It sounds to me like a great feature. Hopefully one day that menu can be customized to include user-defined plugin+settings presets.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yes and that's all I need it to show. I always use a plugin's built in preset handling system because I can use it in other DAWs.

I have hundreds and hundreds of my own presets spread out over the plugins I own so it's more efficient for me to use their built in preset handling systems.

So yeah hopefully at some point the default state of a plugin can be set in the manager. It's a great feature that I really enjoy in FL Studio. It not only allows setting the default bank/preset but custom size/skins and other factors as well.

It's not a deal breaker in WF as banks and presets are only a matter of mouse clicks away but when you have to perform that action every time you call up a plugin is does make one wish for the feature.

Come to think of it there is very little else I need or want in WF. It pretty much does everything I need and does it well.

As far as track presets go, that tip for bookmarking the presets folder is handy, even if it requires a lot of scrolling and making sure presets names are very specific. I previously tried dragging directly from the Roaming/..../presets folder in Windows into Waveform but this just created a copy of the preset in the Windows folder and nothing happened in Waveform.
I have been trying to save track folders as presets and they do not show up anywhere apart from the bookmarked preset folder, with a rack icon beside them strangely enough. From here they can be recalled but if there was any routing involved (tracks 1,2 and 3 output to track 4) then this is forgotten by the presets and needs to be set up again, which is no biggy.

I think I have figured out what's broken about some of these Track presets. If you make one that includes a Folder or Submix track then they neglect to specify a type parameter. Once I add that parameter they show up in the Tracks category and with the correct icon.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Is this a new issue? Can you send me one of the Track presets that doesn't show up (this is probably best done through our support system https://www.tracktion.com/support). Also, where on your OS are the presets saved?

I'm fairly sure they should appear under the "Tracks" browser so that does sound like a bug.
I think I have found the problem - or at least one problem - and how it happens. I have created a new ticket: 69596

BTW, the original ticket from last summer was 66816

Once I got time to sit down and open the preset file in Notepad (never done that before) this made perfect sense, and I can make it work. I had to remove a tag for some reason, then close and reopen Waveform. The output routings inside the folder track still don't save, but that's fine. Thanks for the tip.
