Problem with serial number Windows 7 [solved]

I wrote to the art acoustics support yesterday but didn't get a answer til now.

I want to install Art Acoustic Reverb on Windows 7 64 Bit.

When I first startthe plugin it ask for the serial number.
After inserting it i get the message:

Could not write serial to preference file !
Please contact ArtsAcoustic support.

I tried also starting the host in Aministrator mode but it doest help.

Hey mate - how did you solve this problem ?? i'm having the exact same issue.... no matter how many times i re-install / different file pathing etc it still gives me the same pop up box...

please help as i would really like to start using my reverb again...

It usually helps to run your host as administrator when registering the plugin.

I will try to run into this issue on a clean test system.

Same here.. Win7 64bit, latest AAR Version, these serial issues are a bit annoying to paying customers, sorry..

Running host ( Ableton live8 ) as admin worked though..

the problem isnt solved, i have the same problem and i am already loged in as administrator !!

Try actually running the DAW or the plug-in installer as administrator (right click on the exe\shortcut and select Run as Administrator). Being logged in as admin is not always enough.
I think this is what alex meant above.

I recently had this issues with my Windows 10 Machine and was able to find a fix. Basically, it's a corrupt Preference.xml file in the C:\Users\(your-user-name)\AppData\Roaming\ArtsAcoustic\Reverb folder. These are the steps I took to fix this very annoying issue. You will know it's corrupt, because the file either won't open or just open as blank or show a bunch of garbage with a text editor. I use Visual Studio code as my text editor, but any editor will do.

1. Make sure your DAW is closed.
2. Open the C:\Users\(your-user-name)\AppData\Roaming\ArtsAcoustic\Reverb folder
3. Rename the corrupt file from Preference.xml to Preference.old ( you probably can delete the old file, you won't need it)
4. Find the good version of the Preference.xml, I found one in the C:\ProgramData\ArtsAcoustic\Reverb directory
5. Simply copy the good Preference.xml to the C:\Users\(your-user-name)\AppData\Roaming\ArtsAcoustic\Reverb folder.
6. Now you can open up your DAW of choice and re-register the plugin. it will work without the error and play nice.
7. Make some good Music!

Side-Note: Another option is to simply delete the corrupt Preference.xml file and just do a reinstall.
