Got my PB upgrade to Scaler 3 license in my products tab.jules99 wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 9:16 amI'm not sure how many plugin marketing campaigns you have witnessed, but releasing a couple of videos highlighting the features of an upcoming releasing isn't really hyping it in my book.VitaminD wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 4:50 pm They are really milking the release. Marketing and promotional hype to eleven.
I don't think any product can live up to such hype. It's not a food replicator or some low cost energy source. It's a plugin to arrange chords.
If you register an account at scalermusic.com, Scaler 3 is available to download as of now. It isn't available at PB yet, where I bought it, and PB hasn't sent out the serial, so you can only use the trial version for now.

Well in the time leading up to the Scaler 3 update I got the following at my Plugin Boutique account. "Includes free upgrade to Scaler 3":
But today it's showing my upgrade price as $29. Another one of those "glitches" vendors are so happy to cause these days?
I'll contact PB support but I hold little hope there will be a favorable outcome.

Hi, folks
There is a time lag when closing UI of VST3 version of Scaler 3 in Ableton LIve. All of plugins don't have this kind of delay when trying to close them. Also Sclaler 2 works fine. Problem only with Scaler 3.
Anyone else having this problem?
I'm on Mac OS 15.3.2 in Live 12.1

I think you just own Scaler 2, but they changed the thumbnail for Scaler 2 across the site to have that free update notice even though it only applies to new purchases of Scaler 2.Teksonik wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 1:43 pm Well in the time leading up to the Scaler 3 update I got the following at my Plugin Boutique account. Seems promising so far here too. I like the new UI and I am picking it up easily.pchase wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 11:32 am Got it, seems very promising so far! Plug-in scan worked better than most DAWs and the UI is much cleaner and more performant than v2.

Yes it's quite obvious that I own Scaler 2 and I also bought Scaler 1 along with a lot of other products from PB. It's also obvious they said that I would get Scaler 3 free....until I don't.pchase wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 2:25 pmI think you just own Scaler 2, but they changed the thumbnail for Scaler 2 across the site to have that free update notice even though it only applies to new purchases of Scaler 2.Teksonik wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 1:43 pm Well in the time leading up to the Scaler 3 update I got the following at my Plugin Boutique account. So in other words just another "glitch" by incompetent vendors. I grow weary of such skulduggery.
Others may simp if they wish but that doesn't help stop these kinds of mistakes (or downright deception depending on how one looks at it). They need to be called out when they do these kind of things.
I have yet to receive a response from PB support but if they refuse to honor their earlier claim then I'll simply purchase all my plugins from other vendors going forward. Too much competition out there for us to put up with incompetent or deceptive vendors.

When did you buy Scaler 2? Unless you bought Scaler 2 recently (I forget the cutoff date), then the upgrade price is $29Teksonik wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 2:42 pm

Reaaaally don't like the UI changes, feels very cluttered and cramped and the workflow is clunky. Maybe I was in the minority w Scaler 2 but I liked how fast the UI was. This feels .. slow and weird, certain buttons dont do anything if the context is incorrect, it feels very zoomed in and confusing to navigate. I like the new features and am happy to support the devs as Scaler is one of the best plugins out there imo but I think I'll be sticking with 2 for now..

I’ve got the same screenshot but, of course, no free update for me either.Teksonik wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 2:42 pmYes it's quite obvious that I own Scaler 2 and I also bought Scaler 1 along with a lot of other products from PB. I’m not in the recent purchase “grace period” and “the glitch” is obvious.
I don’t need it and $29 would be a total waste.

I don't remember but that doesn't matter. If there was no free upgrade due to my purchase date then they shouldn't have said so in my account. (see image above). I would have been fine with that but what I'm not fine with is being mislead. All this time I've been anticipating the free upgrade today so this whole thing has done nothing but leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Yes and I'm getting sick and tired of "glitches". It's no more than incompetence and apathy. Unless there are some repercussions for making mistakes then they have no incentive to stop making them.liquidsound wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 3:22 pm I’ve got the same screenshot but, of course, no free update for me either.

At any rate I received an answer from Plugin Boutique support and of course they're not going to honor the deal shown.
So I'll simply boycott PB going forward. Too many other vendors out there and I can stop paying foreign transaction fees on every PB purchase. So all they managed to accomplish was to lose a long time customer with 13 pages of purchases in my account.
Like you I won't bother paying to upgrade Scaler.....moving on.
