Are there instructions on how to do it somewhere? I didn't receive anything from UA explaining the process. Thanks.Uncle E wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 7:32 pmFWIW, the change to machine authorization was completely effortless.pekbro wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 4:51 pm I just uninstalled all my UAD stuff, as it refuses to let me relocate anything ignoring the content

Open UAD Connect. Press "Continue". That's it!

Yeah, I hear you. I created an automation script to delete all that stuff. I stopped updating my UAD plugins because they work fine as-is and I got tired of having to run the script every time.pekbro wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 7:48 pm Yea, for me it’s not about that, I just don’t want all the stuff in my root drive. I have like 16 plugins, almost 2 gb worth of UA connect and support files.![]()

Thanks for the reply. I opened UA Connect but there was no "Continue", it just started trying to update all my plugins and I can't cancel the downloads for some reason. Where are you seeing the continue if you don't mind? Is that automatic update what gets rid of iLok? Pretty confusing, they should probably explain why they are suddenly updating all your sh*t and not giving you a choice to cancel the updates.

It was automatic. Allow it to finish updating, then close and restart UA Connect. The button should show up automatically once your UA Connect is up-to-date.

Ok thanks. I'll wait it out and let it do it's thing then. Looking forward to the day I don't have to open the dreaded UA connect anymore, I know it's a pipe dream but it would be a better world.Uncle E wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 8:13 pm It was automatic. Nothing gets rid of the iLok malware for UAD plugins. The invasive software manager is still required.
As a bonus you get spyware with UA Connect which keeps a constant up/down internet connection transferring data whether you are using a UAD plugin at the moment or not:

Don't forget Universal Audio Helper Service (uacloudhelper.exe), it has automatic startup by default and also connects with UDP and TCP endpointsTeksonik wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 2:35 pm (...)

FWIW, it's probably the only time this will happen, at least for several years.

Now that all my UAD plugins have successfully migrated to iLok machine and are updated, can I uninstall UA Connect and UA Helper Service, and then reinstall later this year if/when I want to update my plugins?

It shouldn't be a problem.
