Thanks! I did end up getting hold of it. Only given it a bit of a test, so far, but seems ideal. Not too interested in it specifically for guitar. Mostly want to use it as a channel-strip that has added bonus FX. Hard to go wrong, really :tu:
Yes Mixbox works well as a channel strip and general enhancer.
Try the Tone Control to warm up / saturate tracks.
Oh and I love having individual wet dry controls, though they cannot be automated, feel free to complain here like I did :

The only other thing it really needs is Midi Learn.
Apart from that such a cool FX Box.

Would be nice to have a universal HP and LP built into the rack framework :tu:

Might have to request the feature. And might add to your thread, also.

MixBox RIP :-|
MixBox has been discontinued on iOS and Mac/Windows. It is no longer offered for sale but if you are concerned about ongoing support, we don't plan any further feature updates but if issues emerge we will of course look into them. If you already have MixBox, you should still have access to your the downloads in IK Product Manager.

Has anyone told Audioplugin.deals? They seem to still have it for sale.

Sad to hear, but I wonder if they have a new version or replacement lined up? Mixbox is my favorite thing IK have done. I wonder if they're concerned about it eating into sales of T-Racks. I know I've held off from buying T-Racks because I'm satisfied with everything in MixBox, and I'm probably not the only one.

Yea it's quite odd they discontinued it right after aggressively marketing TS4 max for months, which included mixbox among other products that have also been dropped. I just bought it 2 weeks back or so and am already experiencing a bit of buyer's remorse. Ofc I know I can continue to use it for a while, but the absence of future proofing just adds that little bit of hesitation.

The other strange thing is they've also discontinued syntronik 2, and while the syntronik libraries are still available in sampletank 4 max v2 this is not included in TS5 max for some reason.

I guess these are the kinds of things that make IK unpopular, and why they continue to remain so. Otoh they seem to have also taken some positive steps recently, like no longer requiring license transfer credits for hardware (like the uno synth etc), which frankly was a mind boggling policy to begin with. Also buying extra download credits after 6 months etc. So it's like 1-2 steps forward and 1-2 steps back. Or perhaps this is part of an attempt to streamline their line-up, and it'll make more sense in time. But then why continue to offer the syntronik libraries but not include them in TS5? That seems odd even for IK.

It could also work the other way around. For example if someone likes the tape delay in MixBox, he/she could want to get the T-Racks version for the extra features.

Or... I know I won't invest in AmpliTube, because I just want its effects in a simple format, not that large interface that makes the effects look too small. MixBox would be ideal for this purpose. Too bad that means I won't buy Morley Oil Can Delay for example.

Yeah it's definitely possible, maybe more so now that they added external sidechaining to the compressors in T-Racks, so the feature gap has widened a little.

I kind of saw MixBox as the "consumer" or "musician" alternative to T-Racks; for $30 on sale, you could get a ton of high quality plugins that'll do pretty much all you'd want. But if you're a professional using T-Racks, there's probably not a lot in MixBox for you.

But now that the standard sale price for T-Racks MAX seems to be $100, that's still in an affordable price range for a lot of people. Not $30 affordable for sure, but I wonder if IK thought if the prices were close enough then future MixBox customers could be made into T-Racks customers.

Damn. I have IK stuff deleted from the computer, but I still have MixBox on the iPad.

Eventually, with a future hardware upgrade, MixBox will likely not be available to install. At least, that's something I experienced after moving to a new iPhone. Apps I bought that worked fine on the same OS are just not available to download and install.

With any of the channel strip plugins, if you trust its limitations, it's a time-saver. If you need more, the limitations are real.

Mixbox has filters and modulation FX that TRACKS does not have.
But IK is moving focus to TRACKS. I wish they got their stuff together and either keep separate or integrate into the latter and offer a discount to existing MIXBOX users. MIXBOX is a cool suite. Shame it does not allow for rack and master dry wet automation and does not have MIDI learn...

Yes, convert the MixBox effects to T-Racks effects then. They already have some of these effects as horizontal designs in SampleTron:

Then please do the same for AmpliTube effects.

YES !! Totally agree. :tu: Unify ... :hyper:
And if some of us have an effect in one suite, it should be available in the others too (unless feature differences) :tu:
