View velocity independently for each lane (without having to select all the notes first; just select the lane)
Set different snap values (and default velocity values) for each lane.
Re-arrange lanes. eg: move your GM shaker so it sits next to your GM hi-hats.
Delete lanes you're not using.
Re-map incoming MIDI to different notes eg; to make a non-GM drum module conform to GM mapping, (or just to make it easier to play on a keyboard)

Yes - drum lanes are very useful in a sequencer, and I am disappointed that T2 has missed this... a feature request for T3 I'm sure
