What about Reason Rack dear Urs, as you used to have rack extensions and why not do it with Uhbik 2.0?

It would be amazing as Reason rack is now also a vst 3 plugin.

As a non-Reason DAW user, I have no interest in installing a Reason VST3 plugin, as some work-around rack for hosting u-he plugins.

Most DAWs have their own internal/native workarounds already in place for hosting such third party plugins. "Patcher", in FL Studio, for one example. Or just saving individual Mixer chains as presets.

However, if an effects rack were ever to be developed for u-he effect plugins, I would rather a bespoke design thoughtfully crafted by u-he themselves, if/when they feel ready to do so. Even if that means waiting a few years.

Kilohearts' effect plugins for example, work so well when used within their Snap Heap and Multipass effect hosts, precisely because those modular effect hosts were deliberately designed to integrate together, by the same developer.

Oh I absolutely agree with you. The whole reason I even asked for a rack was because I think these devices are now rack-worthy. In the past, I wasn't even using them. Not because they weren't good, but because I didn't like their GUI.

You could use a hosting plugin such as Kushview Element or Blue Cat Audio’s Patchwork (just two examples of many of these types of plugins), and then save and reload saved presets of these effect plugins, in your DAW of choice. That’s all a Uhbik rack would be.

If your DAW of choice is already Bitwig and you have no intention of switching DAWs, wouldn't you agree that using Bitwig's own vast capability in racking/nesting/modulation/etc... is preferable to a third-party plug-in like Kushview Element or Blue Cat Audio Patchwork?

Possibly… Admittedly, I don’t know if Bitwig is able to “containerize” a group of plugins and their settings as a patch that can be loaded into any effects slot in a DAW, and used as a single custom effects patch or not. I use Reaper, and I do know that Reaper has that ability though. I’ve heard that Bitwig is quite modular though, so I’d say that it is definitely a possibility.

Apologies for responding late. I wasn't sure how to do those things in Bitwig, so I created a thread and asked, and @ere2learn was kind enough to answer all my questions. All I can say is, yes, you can do all those things inside Bitwig, and then some.

No worries. We will announce the final price of Uhbik 2.0 once they go public beta. So while they are public beta for a couple of weeks, people can still buy 1.x for the old price and get a free update. This is the equivalent of an introduction offer, and we think it will create more revenue for us than to ask users for an upgrade fee.

Plus of course, we, errm I, already said the upgrade would be free a long time ago, someone would dig up those posts and endless KVRing would break loose if it weren't free.

On a more serious note, I'm really looking forward to the update I used to use Uhbik a lot in the 2010s, so it will be nice to see them again in my newer work!
