Magic7 tells MuLab it only has 1 input bus (ok) and also tells MuLab that this 1 input bus only has 1 channel, thus being mono, which is odd. Pls ask the plug dev why the Steinberg::Vst::BusInfo.channelCount = 1 for the input bus.Taron wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 7:15 am Some convolution based reverb plugins turn the input signal to MONO in MuLab, while they work just fine elsewhere (Reaper, Cubase). There must be some input processing method that MuLab can't deal with properly? I'm sure it's an oversight by the plugin devs, but not too uncommon. Here's one example:

Since even Reaper doesn't have any troubles with it, I'd believe it's something worth having a look at.![]()

Body&Soul used to have the same problem. I believe it was considered a "stereo bus", which is somewhat weird. There is an effects plugin template out there that handles it that way. I'm assuming that a number of devs start by using it. I can ask again what template it was.MuTools wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 12:41 pmMagic7 tells MuLab it only has 1 input bus (ok) and also tells MuLab that this 1 input bus only has 1 channel, thus being mono, which is odd. On Magic7 I have no connection to those devs, though.

I can only add that if a plugin tells MuLab it only has a single mono input bus, then MuLab respects that.

Well, it clearly is a plugin-dev mistake, so it isn't crucial, I'd imagine. Still made me wonder what the deal is with that, you know.MuTools wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 1:36 pm I can only add that if a plugin tells MuLab it only has a single mono input bus, then MuLab respects that.

Alright, this is what I wrote to them:MuTools wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 2:13 pm What about contacting the plug dev?

Technical issue:
The audio input shows only a single bus (channel), which makes some DAWs see it as single channel and turn the input to mono. In reality it should be 2 input channels to let the DAW understand it as a stereo input.
Are there any chances you might consider updating Magic7 with a standard stereo input handling?

FYI: A VST3 bus is like a jack, it can be mono (1 chan) or stereo (2 chans) or multichan (eg. 5.1).
But hopefully and most probably Dan will understand your message.
Thx for messaging him. Pls keep me informed. He can email me directly about this if he wants.

Absolutely! You'll hear from me the second something comes in!
Ah, I got some hints back from Body&Soul's dev (White Elephant Audio), who uses JUCE. He did have that exact problem early on, but I was nagging enough for him to eventually solve it. Here's a video of his that might hold some clues:

Hi Jo, Great work with the updates
I have discovered a possible issue with the LFO in the Multi-Sampla:
I have a stereo piano built with mono samples for left/right in a multi-sampla, which works fine up to M10.0.54
in M10.0.57 it exhibits unexpected behaviour - all keys except middle C have a squeak.
- changing the Pitch LFO rate affects the timing of the sqeaks, but should have no effect at all as the LFO amplitude is set to zero.
- effect reduced when Pitch LFO turned off (inside the modular area).
- Making the piano mono by removing half the samples and setting the rest to centre stops the squeak. Also, using the same samples in a mux without LFO's works fine.
Here is a (cut down) copy of the Multi-sampla mux

I don't see any samples in that zip, i assume i need them to recreate the squeak, no?RichardSemper wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 3:55 pm Hi Jo, Great work with the updates![]()

Meaning you also don't see anything relevant in that video? Then why did you post it? I can't follow.
Ok.Don't worry about it! We will see what Dav has to say...
