Automation clips on their own automation tracks will hopefully be developed. I'm relatively happy just to have an easy-ish way to copy and move around automation, but for my purposes (tracking songs) the automation-only clips on automation tracks would be nicer. BTW, you can create a clip and use it only for automation. It will, however, overlap with other clips. Although maybe you can do a reversal - keep automation clips on the primary track and have MIDI/audio clips on other tracks with output routed to the primary track. Would that work? Hmm... I'm going to give that a try.
