I know. The reason we're on this topic is because u-he synths currently do not support real time retuning. You can't retune notes that are already playing or have just started playing, making the MTS-ESP JI thing not workable on u-he synths.
I don't mean to be pedantic, but I think "continuous" is a better way to describe it, MTS-ESP always works in realtime! But yes indeed, only some synths will change the tuning of an already sounding note and others don't (the list I linked makes note of which do, to the best of our knowledge).

I make JI music with the note-on version all the time! I understand that this probably means my exact musical goals are different than yours. I just don't want any passers-by to think that MTS-ESP and U-He synths are unsuitable for Just-Tuned music in general, that's (pun intended hehe) just not true!

Andreya_Autumn wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 1:55 pm CC messages can be used to move the mapping around on the lattice yes. The purpose of that is more for real-time playing. Map a few MIDI buttons or footswitches to shift the territory around and you can play JI music with more than 12 notes on a 12-note keyboard. But the location on the lattice is also controlled by DAW parameters, so for timeline arrangement that's way more convenient.
The way Scale Breaker handles this is much more convenient and is a better design. They should just copy that. (In my opinion, anyway!)
For the record, "They" is me. ;) Scale Breaker does seem great. I already have an open issue on github to optionally use the same strategy they use (send a midi note to re-center the scale on that note and its frequency). I'll get to that eventually. But I really don't want to hijack this thread anymore! Feel free to direct any other requests to that github page.

I know this is an old thread, but I am also hearing distortion with Diva when Multicore is enabled. I'm using the unmodified preset "DarkPhase" from the "TREASURE TROVE!" folder. I hold down one note and I hear a clicking, kind of stuttering sound. It's considerably worse if I play two notes. It goes away entirely if I turn off Multicore.

HOST: Logic Pro 11.2.1
HARDWARE: Apple Mac Studio, M1 MAX, 64 GB RAM, Sequoia 15.5

This might be happening because some voices are then rendered on efficiency cores, which can not handle Diva. Hence, on Apple silicon it's probably best not to use the MC option, as it's usually also not needed on these machines.

Yes, I agree that Diva works just fine without the Multicore option selected.

I don't hear that clicking and stuttering, but I can confirm what Urs already wrote.
With Diva's multicore option enabled, Logic routes large parts of the processing away from the performance cores and onto the less powerful efficiency cores. That could explain what you are hearing.
That QA guy from planet u-he.
