Agreed on Grid containers and ideally, VST wrappers within the grid as well. Obviously these could not be saved in the containers.

Stepwise is fine... But if you ask me should be part of a set of sequencers.

There are many ways to enter notes, and different UI suit different things.

A mono sequencer with ties and slides, is going to be quite different than a poly sequencer might need to be.

Let alone those, to me, silly circular sequencers.

I think Bitwig can do way better here, especially for drum loops. I mean how hard can it be for them to a simple x0x style sequencer with good groove options.

I'm still hoping very much they took onboard my idea, which is to allow groups INSIDE a drum machine channel. This would be killer for me.

It would finally allow me to just use a single midi channel to program drums, without needing a bunch of groups and routing needing to be setup.

I'd like to be able to configure drum mappings and then reload a drumachine 'kit' and it just keep all my routing etc.

Btw Polarity seems to think that a v6.0 is due anyday. So perhaps once these current sales end, we'll get the announcement and maybe a beta.

Fingers crossed!!

I don't think Polarity will know very much more than anyone else, and if he did he wouldn't be allowed to say.
Having said that, I too suspect we will see an announcement some time after the sales are over. But they may wait until after the summer holiday period is over.

Yeah I think the sale is definitely leading up to a 6.0 announcement. I wouldn’t be surprised if they extended the sale because they needed a little more time before 6.0 is ready.

Didn't they already extend the sale?

I just got an email from them yesterday that says: "We’re waving goodbye to our summer sale in just a few days. . . . Ends August 4, 2025 – act fast."

Yes? That’s what I’m referring to.

My bad, I read it as: I wouldn’t be surprised if they extend the sale . . .

I don't know why. :D

It looks like not only linked clips but linked sections of automation? It looks like you can take a chunk of automation, label it, and treat it kinda like an automation clip?

I see:
- grdlines
- themes
- automation update
- something like a global key scale…
