Lol, Valhalla reverbs have been used “professionally” (whatever that means) in music production , live sound and movie/tv broadcasting work.

I did no such thing.

man read the full message, I'm not talking about you

man read the context of the progression of the posts.
1. you did talk about me. you accused me of making assumptions, and then i replied to that, including pointing out your own use of assumptions in your previous posts
2. writheuk posted directly after that, also referring to your previous posts.
3. you then replied to writheuk about people making assumptions, focussing on one of the folk you'd said were doing that, but not actually excluding others from that.
so i think its reasonable to reiterate what I did, since it wasnt even slightly inferred that I was being excluded from your statement.
i mean if you were not talking about me making an assumption, then why havent you apologised for falsely saying that i made an assumption, eh?
and anyway, his assumption was actually reasonable.
all arguments are based on assumptionmetalifuxx wrote: ↑03 Sep 2025 20:29

It should be pointed out you did not try and respond to his argument on the basis of how questionable or false his assumptions might be, but solely on 'argument to ignorance' which is as followsLogical fallacies are errors that occur in arguments. In logic, an argument is the giving of reasons (called premises) to support some claim (called the conclusion). There are many ways to classify logical fallacies. I prefer listing the conditions for a good or cogent argument and then classifying logical fallacies according to the failure to meet these conditions.
Every argument makes some assumptions. A cogent argument makes only warranted assumptions, i.e., its assumptions are not questionable or false.
Do feel free to argue cogently how it is reasonable for you to infer that Valhalla reverbs have never ever been used “professionally” (whatever that means) in music production , live sound and movie/tv broadcasting work. The argument to ignorance is a logical fallacy of irrelevance occurring when one claims that something is true only because it hasn't been proved false, or that something is false only because it has not been proved true.

Here's Copilot on the subject. "Studio staples"... lol.
Seriously bud, a bigger question is why you feel it necessary to ask him whether he can prove his (perfectly reasonable) statement in the first place.

Anyway...
IMO the no1 answer is Alitverb. And the reason why is not what people think:
It's pictures.
Yes, pictures.
It is about 10x faster to browse IRs by looking at images of the spaces. If something looks right, it probably sounds right. Alitverb now has a huge built in library, so you can quickly find something to match pretty much every space you're going to encounter.
People think post is about absolute HQ perfection. In the main it's actually about speed. Time is money. If you can find the right acoustic space in a fraction of the time, the thing earns its keep.
I'm amazed no competitor has really got their browsers sorted - some do have pictures but none have that speed / depth that Altiverb has.

I can't clearly remember and I don't have time to check but in the extra features of the Dune Part 1 blu ray we can see Hans Zimmer and his crew on a computer with Valhalla VintageVerb (or maybe another Valhalla one) on screen. Or maybe it's Blade Runner 2049. Can't clearly remember but I know it's one of those two.

I don't use Valhalla because i don't like the interface. But many do. I think it is very fine? No?
