If one could just set a marker point and zoom in on it. Not that hard to program, I suppose

Lol, less pro is definitely a good way to put it. It almost looks even more cartoonish now, like an ios app.

Regardless I know I'll upgrade eventually, probably during xmas time.

Can you please start a new thread for this sample alignment issue you think you have? I don't think it's a good addition to this Bitwig 6 thread, we've had pages on a specific edge case, I suggest creating a thread for it.

I dunno. For me, I definitely prefer the new look. I don't think there's anything particularly cartoonish about it. Is there anything that jumps out as cartoonish? I guess the bright colors for icons in the browser and track coloring? Oh, you know, the gradients on looped clips in the arrange view do look kind of cartoonish. Definitely agree with you there. I hope they get rid of those and find some other way to indicate looped clips.

I can't speak for the other platforms but within OSX we have a color picker that covers the entire spectrum. Personally I'd prefer we access that than settling on any of Bitwig's limited palette choices, particularly for tracks.
IMO Logic's ability to assign custom Icons on tracks is also hugely helpful

Already exists, and already told them please to use that one instead.

Agree. It's less informative and clear then before. The group overview for example is a huge downgrade. It gives less information than before and with the (totally useless imo) headers wasting space it looks more like a normal track which makes the overview of the project a lot more confusing. There's also no way to tell if one colored stripe represents clips of a track or a group inside the group. Also why empty sections retain the colour of the group? Group overview in 5 was just perfect. Only information that could have been a little more clear was the difference between a bounce on the group and a section containing only one audio clip inside the group. I really hope that it's not the final state. Also the gradient on the looping clips and the tinted arranger background of groups add to the visual clutter.
When in automation mode the notes inside clips are nearly invisible. When inside the editor in track mode there's no visual separation between iterations of a looped clip on the header. And why no option to keep the bright arranger background?
I know the devs like their daw to look stylish and fancy but this is too much.

let's say just because the environment looks more ‘pro’ doesn’t mean you’ll be more creative. I know people who, when they switched from FL to Ableton, actually lost their creativity and just stared at the screen. The human brain is strange

What the listeners experience as pleasure often originates in the creator’s pain, struggle etc. ... That’s certainly how it works in programming :D

I get your point. I actually don't care that much about the looks. What I do care about is funcionality and the daw not getting in the way of my creative process. This why I bought Bitwig in the first place; it was easy to navigate and gave a clear overview of what was going on in my project. I feel that part of this got lost with 6.

Not sure the context of what you mean. But you can zoom in on the "Section" between two cue markers by alt clicking on the cue marker in the zoom and pan preview bar below the arranger.

Editing audio content of a clip. Thanks for the info, so basically, it's possible then?

Definitely send them your feedback on this.

I've been mainly doing audio editing, but should try mixing something too. Seems I'd be writing about some of these points with grouping, which I use extensively and think are one of my favourite things in Bitwig.

I generally like the UI update though. But you mKe me want to doubles check a few things while feedback to the Devs is possible.

Another point I forgot. When bouncing in place on groups it won't show the bounced waveform on the group like 5. So no way to tell what's palying. Bounce or tracks inside group. Let's hope this is an oversight, too. Also when 'show master track content' it doesn't show up on the group like before but creates a new track inside the group which is shown on the end of the group when unfolded beneath all other tracks. 6 forces you to unfold groups to perform a lot of operations if you use the bounce in place funcionality with groups which my workflow relies heavily on.

Hmmm. I've not been doing much 'normal' stuff, but groups are a bit different.

Maybe I missed something but it seemed I couldn't add a local FX track inside a group but had to create it at the bottom and drag it into the group...

Is that just me?

The shortcut & loading send fx within the group works here
