Oh, you know, the gradients on looped clips in the arrange view do look kind of cartoonish. Definitely agree with you there. I hope they get rid of those and find some other way to indicate looped clips.
hmmm maybe it's the larger elements...definitely some of the gradients....the play buttons on clips, the loop circles...hard to say. I think 'cartoonish' was a little disparaging on my part. It's just looks more ios app-like to me. The little paperclip looking icon is pretty funny.

Anyways.....it's still Bitwig and I don't want to nit-pick too much. If the ui is snappier then that's music to my ears. I look forward to getting 6 when it's out of beta and there's an xmas sale or something.

Bounce or tracks inside group. Let's hope this is an oversight, too. Also when 'show master track content' it doesn't show up on the group like before but creates a new track inside the group which is shown on the end of the group when unfolded beneath all other tracks. 6 forces you to unfold groups to perform a lot of operations if you use the bounce in place funcionality with groups which my workflow relies heavily on.
Hmmm. I've not been doing much 'normal' stuff, but groups are a bit different.

Maybe I missed something but it seemed I couldn't add a local FX track inside a group but had to create it at the bottom and drag it into the group...

Is that just me?
Create the group and then in the group shift command T on Mac. Local FX created writhing group.

Thanks both. I see what happend, the right click option (on a track or a group), which would add a track, has been removed.

The short cuts do indeed work ctrl+alt+T on windows works great. Thanks for sharing that tip. :tu:

I will email bitwig, I think a few right click options may have been removed, which, as a right clicker, throws me out a bit. (Though learning more short cuts can only be a good thing!)

A few days ago I sent them an email to suggest a right-click option for "Paste" clips in the launcher and the arranger. Now there is an option for "Copy" clips, which is great. But then, after you have copied, you need to paste with the qwerty keyboard. Not the end of the world of course, but usually where there is a Copy there is Paste.

Post

Yes I agree with that. I can't always remember all the short cuts immediately.

Not sure the context of what you mean. But you can zoom in on the "Section" between two cue markers by alt clicking on the cue marker in the zoom and pan preview bar below the arranger.
Editing audio content of a clip. Thanks for the info, so basically, it's possible then?
Oh you mean onsets in an audio file? I don't know if thers a shortcut for that, I meant in the arranger w/ manually created cues

So for those on the beta, how close are we looking to being able to replace 5 for normal usage? I've held off downloading so far but I assume it's getting close? How's stability?

Very far away. The last beta was released on September 10th. They've fixed 2 out of the 15 or so bugs I've reported so far, and more that I haven't bothered to report yet to avoid overwhelming them.

I mean, you can go ahead and use it, if you want. It's really buggy. But it does work.

Ok, I'll hold off until the next beta drop. Normally I would jump in and help find bugs in the earlier betas but my time is limited right now and I'm already in another closed beta.

I've been struggling with this the past few weeks. Taking some full tracks and trying to warp them to a constant tempo.

If trying to do this for a whole track the size of the horizontal scroll bar you can grab becomes very small...

I've been trying to work out better way to do this and the best I can come up with is to split the tracks into a few sections and bounce these down separately so you can warp smaller sections.

I also added a short cut key so I could more easily move between stretch and onsets.

I'm trying some new things and doing ideas in the 6 beta.

I'm not going to jump for some existing things that I'm mixing and finishing off. There's always a risk a bug in beta would corrupt a project. I'm pretty good at saving versions as a I go, but hate losing any work at all.

Hello.
How is the performance when you zoom in very far into a waveform in the arrange view?
For me, the program becomes very slow and unusable until I zoom out again. (linux, flatpak and deb)
thx

On my 7 year old Windows PC, it drops the UI from 120fps to around 60fps by zooming in as far as possible on a waveform in the Arrange view. If I do the same thing, but instead in the Detail editor, there's no change in framerate, and it stays at 120fps.
