The Mac installer is cleaning up all old files during installation.
You can have the old 2019 alpha version installed and update straight to this RC without issues.
The old graphics are deleted and replaced with the new ones.

The only reason I can think of right now for why this wouldn't work is some sort of permission issue in the location these files are stored.
This could prevent the installer from removing and replacing these files.
If you are up for it, we could check some of those files or folders to determine the source of the issue.
In this case, please contact our support. But please be patient, we have a national holiday tomorrow, so we won't be back at work before Monday.

If you don't want to wait this long, you can of course do the same I already suggested a couple of posts above; delete the Uhbik folder in the application support section and then run the latest installer again.

Well considering two people are having issue – that's not true.

Also is there a way how to set old vsts using different resource folder? So we can have Uhbik 1 and Uhbik 2 together.

P.S. I'm still looking for hints how to contact Ableton about IPluginConnectivity. My name is not Urs and I don't have phone numbers of all Berlin audio devs.

* Cubase: the host bypass option is not working (use the plugin's own bypass)
We are not able to fix this for now IIRC because bypassing the plug-ins would change latency and then Cubase would stutter. We have to address this another time, and for now the only Bypass is in the plug-in's own editor window.
Understood...but as you know, this one's been around quite a while. Can it be fixed?
On a number of Macs

Sure, we'll fix it. We just fixed it for all other hosts except this one, but now we need to do a special fix for this case which we'll do in a subsequent update.

Look, we have them on speed dial. They tell us "uh, not sure if anyone needs this... got any customers who do?". Hence, we try to send them some. That's what this is. As for ways to convey the message, I do know that they used to have a support forum. So... (if there is no way to contact them, how are they still alive? - I surely think that the direct exchange with our customers is vital... also, last time I visited them, ok, that is a decade ago, they did have plenty of support staff)

As for Uhbik 1 and 2 together... this is already the case, the current (and previous beta) installers have that feature: Uhbik 2.0 installs the resources needed to run the VST2 of Uhbik 1.x in parallel. All you need to do is keep a backup the olden VST2 (or download from our archives). I'm sure it's explained somewhere, and if not, our support staff (easily reached!) is prepared to walk you through it.

Btw. all of this ordeal is because we finally renamed them. This was not nearly as much work as the surround thing, but I can assure you that it was *months* of testing, trying, contacting, requesting, workarounding, testing again, fixing-things-for-people-who-do-not-comply-with-json, calling things, calling names and eventually calling shots. So now this is it. The future will be better for it.

I literally tried following:

1. from /Library/Application Support/u-he/ Removed Uhbik folder
2. Install vst2 from Uhbik_9629_Mac
3. Moved vst2s to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Uhbik
3. Install vst3 from Uhbik_19679_Mac
4. Moved vst3 to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/U-he
5. Looks like vst2 is rendering with issues (see bypass button) and crashing Live onClose
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

We hope to release the 2.0 update in about two weeks, if no showstoppers emerge during the next few days.
Will we be seeing the one with black all over with white stripes?

Theres a proper support channel available via the front page of the ableton website, click on the Help tab and scroll to the bottom, where it says in large letters "Contact Support" with a choice for sales or technical support.
Not sure why you couldn't find this yourself, its not exactly hidden some where difficult to find?
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

If you continue to only see what you want to see and ignore the rest of what I am writing, then I cannot help you.

I'm not sure, but willing to help.
Just don't say it works, when it doesn't.

No it's not. Literally no word about it.

I of course can contact support. But this attitude instead of "thank you for bug report with details" looks at least strange.

Thanks for the hint. Also without passive agressive "not sure why you couldn't find this yourself, its not exactly hidden some where difficult to find?" it would look much better.
Yes, I don't exactly know contact support on Ableton site and there is no problem with it.

Just to confirm that the Reaper offline rendering crash is no more. Thanks!

Not literally, but implied. So if Tas writes "this is how you do it", it should be obvious that the answer to your "can I do it this other way" is a straight "no".

Look, this is obviously a super rare installation issue (2 out of how many hundreds?). Contacting our support as Tas has suggested time and time again might be helpful to you, while nitpicking about semantics of who said what is not.

There is no bug we can fix if the problem is Apple's own installer that can't handle, say, a permission issue, or of it lost a manifest from a previous installation.

This are really great news. As far as I can judge, everything looks OK on a first sight. If not, I am going to let you know :D

One person's "implied answer" is other person's "is it yes or no".

:))) That's what you may tell us.

That semantics is important to me as customer. And if put on my shoes you'd see why.
