Keyscape is the pianos (and other keys) library. I haven’t used it as I bought the UVI Keysuite instead.

You can customize the order of the parameter IDs for host automation in Omnisphere though. By default none are available, but you just right-click and assign to automation ID. So you can just do that once and make it global. That is how Freelancesoundlabs for example made ominsphere nks libraries, including the whole factory library and third party ones, with tons and tons of pages of controls. So you can use it with Bitwig and Live and NKS and all those things that require host IDs. They just used midi cc's for the hardware integration stuff, which was just meant to use existing synths that only sent midi with their knobs, to be able to control Omnisphere.machinesworking wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 9:32 pmNope, got it, but I'm not here to argue, just to ask questions and learn. Thanks for gritting your teeth and sharing, I'm slightly disappointed Omnisphere also does not present it's macro (global in Spectrosonics speak) controls to the host in the first 8-64 slots etc. but it's unfortunately rare. Plasmonic, Pigments do, Analog Lab and Zebra 2 with some slight caveats. Mackie Control 20 years ago could read host automation, so it's weird that some plugins still publish in a random order.IvyBirds wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 8:14 pm Again you seem to be confused and are putting words into my mouth. You seem to not be able to grasp what the Global Controls are and their purpose in Omnisphere 3
Obviously Spectrasonics decided to go with CC for various reasons, not all hosts can reorder plugin automation, and some don't have the random control surface support that Live and Bitwig do for instance. So in the case of DP11 as an example CC is a better solution, and yes if I were to get Ominisphere hopefully it could set up CCs in Kontrol mk3 with the two banks of 16 knobs and buttons that can have CCs

yup, i meant keyscape. i´m aware that it is for EPs.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri Oct 17, 2025 12:18 am Keyscape is the pianos (and other keys) library. I haven’t used it as I bought the UVI Keysuite instead.
As @seangm just mentioned, but GranPianos are another story.
I use Pianoteq, also for EPs. But point here -vs, my request- is the FreqShifting "per key" (ie. polyphonic incl.poly keytracking)
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

I think Falcon is the only major synth where I first saw the UI and workflow and said "not for me". It's a shame because many of the modules look amazing.

I want to know if Omnisphere 3 can use multiple CPU cores at the same time. This has been a limitation of Omnisphere and makes complex multis impractical unless you embed it inside of Unify (for me at least.) That was something I wanted to see implemented in a 3.0 release but so far I haven't found any information on this.

Oh, yes. The same hereseangm wrote: Fri Oct 17, 2025 12:23 am I like Keyscape for everything excep the grand pianos, the C7 just doesn't sound very good to me. Much better Kontakt pianos available IMHO.

You don't have to use MIDI CCs if you don't want. In Omnisphere you can right click on any parameter and you will get this popup menumachinesworking wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 9:32 pmNope, got it, but I'm not here to argue, just to ask questions and learn. Using this menu you can then select how you want to control that parameter. You can select MIDI Learn CC and then all you have to do is move the control on your controller and it's programmed. It has an inverted option as well which will make 0 all the way up and 127 all the way down
Outside of MIDI CCs you can select Note Learn and use notes instead
Outside of that you can select Host Automation and that parameter will be visible to your host. Each parameter you assign will get assigned a "Host Automation ID Number" in order.
This will work with the global controls. You can assign them to whatever Host Automation number you want you don't have to use CCs. It would take literally 30 seconds to setup
You can then save that as a template which will save with the patch. You can also save the file separately.
A shortcut is to create "Init Patches" with your controller and automation lanes programmed how you want. Then just load that Init Patch. That will allow you the ability to create multiple setups and easily recall them
If you select the "show full MIDI learn report" you will get a window that looks like this
That will show you everything used in MIDI learn and host automation
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yeah I went into the 2.8 manual online and poked around. I think it's set up very much like Falcon when it comes to host automation, which IMO is the decent middle ground, in that like you mention it's patch specific, i.e. it's not a thing like Bitwig where it assigns the same 16-64 or more controls in the order you determine, then that synth calls up those controls the same way every time no matter what patch you call up, unless you specifically override it with settings for that project. That of course makes sense, since like Falcon or Reaktor Omnisphere is never the same set up at all from patch to patch.IvyBirds wrote: Fri Oct 17, 2025 5:08 am You don't have to use MIDI CCs if you don't want. I mean unless I'm missing something here, they went with CC macros for global macros because the way the hardware presents itself changes what you would want assigned and they did the work for dozens and dozens of controllers and hardware synths.
I will die on the hill that Plasmonic and Pigments etc. present the most obvious choices for this though, host automation controllers like Kontrol mk3 series simply don't need any mapping for any patch, since the macros are already mapped in the patch and presented first in the automation list. My hope is that in a few years all DAWs allow the same thing as Bitwig where any controller in their list is capable of remapping all parameters globally for any patch pulled up in that plugin, since then macros become the way to save the order of the most used parameters for that patch, outside of any work needed by the hardware or plugin.

This rings a vague bell, Omni 2 might initially have been the same. I guess it takes longer to organise international distribution, so the first wave is US-only
