I have the same bug with NI Reaktor FX. It can be activated but not deactivated. I always have to open the Reaktor GUI to disabled it there.

LFO Tool behaves in the same manner. It's pretty easy to work around though.

I appreciate getting the email before the upgrade to be able to take advantage of the previous pricing. I had slept on Uhbik, but I took advantage of the timing and I'm really impressed. Especially as a Linux user I value being able to use native plugins of this quality.

We will eventually fix this though. "Connect plug-in bypass with host bypass" was a surprisingly major project during the past few weeks. It worked super well until we realised that bypassing also changes latency. And when we started reporting latency changes to the host, some hosts like Cubase would - understandably! - act up a bit. So now we need to do a major refactoring of how our oversampled modules deal with those 2-4 samples latency from the oversampling algorithm when we bypass them. We decided to do this a few weeks or months later because if we had to postpone the Uhbik release again, we'd start clashing with Zebra 3, and it would probably - again - be a longer dev cycle until we get back.

But yeah, we know what it is, and we know what to do, but it'll have to wait a bit... well, we're just very glad we got this out as it is. Don't get me started on how difficult it was to rename them.

Nice.
BTW, it would be very cool to have a distortion fx from you.

Uhbik 2 NKS (plus 2 add-on banks) - template includes a panel of 8 modulators (you can add more if you want but no presets currently have more than 4) - all patches converted to NKS (graphics added by Diam on NI forum)

It depends on the range of the parameter you are modulating.
The Delay parameter ranges from 0 to 16.
If you choose a quantization of 12, then there are only two steps between which the modulation can alternate.
The Volume parameter has a bigger range, and thus more steps are generated with the same quantization setting.
Understood. Thank you.

I saw a Uhbik rack mentioned in some music article a while ago and on another thread. Has that feature been dropped, or is it just delayed...delayed....delayed...?

Uhbik Runciter can be that. Satin too. I wouldn't say no to the Jaws Wavefolder from Repro as a Uhbik.

The rack project was probably why we couldn't manage to release the update 5 years ago. It created so much overhead, progress was glacial. But then the Uhbik team fell apart when two developers left us during the onset of Corona, leaving the rack in limbo. Skipping it was the first step in getting Uhbik done at all.

We can revisit it at some point, and much of what's been missing has probably been done for Zebra 3. But none of the new developers have ever seen the code, or its concepts.

And also, I'm not 100% sure of the concept is still any good. The modulation aspect is nicely tacked in the individual plug-ins, and there are so and so many meta-host-plug-ins out there which serve the same purpose, probably doing an even better job: They load any plug-in from any brand. So does one really need an Uhbik rack in 2025?

Yes, an Uhbik rack would be great imho. Just because we could use the eq and compressor before any other of these plugins and save it conveniently as a preset. This way we could make ducking reverbs, filtered flangers and so on.

I love the GUI and features of Kilohearts Multipass, but it doesn't host third party plugins, and their plugins vary in quality (most not close to Uhbik quality at all, IMO). Bluecat is workable, but I just don't like it. There are some modular ones by smaller companies, but they aren't as nice as I would like. I can just do stuff in racks in Ableton Live, but it is not as nifty as Multipass. I do see the value for workflow of having an Uhbik rack (especially if it was similar to Multipass in features).
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Really nice update. Thank you!

Uhbik 2 is a very welcome and unexpected surprise.
Download and install literally took just a few minutes.
Great UI's. Easy to get up and running with them. Great presets to get you going.
And some interesting surprises in the effects themselves.
Well done.
Cheers
