I really don't get all the UI negative comments. Sure, it's not the most 2029 super flashy interface with bells and whistles & extravagant glowing casino animations but it is clean, compact and everything is well laid out where things should be. At least for me as a seasoned Omni user.... From an init patch, I can create my own in a matter of minutes and I can easily get lost in deep sound design for hours with it.
I feel sorry for those who stop themselves from exploring this monster synth just because of the interface.

It's the GUI the designers wanted, and it's just like a picture: Some people like this, some like that—and more or less quietly, the character flaws and intolerance of many people come to the fore in their disparaging comments on other people's taste.
But whatever. O3 scares me

Its strange that omnisphere is called the best synth, but don't have skins at all.
Not even a dark/light theme.
They added so many things to omni, but still lacking skins.

I'm really digging the "Classic Digital" category. Already found numerous great sounds that evoke that late 90's/early 2000's sound from Playstation games. I'm hoping they'll add more of those kinds of sounds in the future, or even a dedicated sonic extension for it.

Yeah, I was layering six sound sources, complex mod routing, everything was perfect. Then it hit me. No skins. The whole track was ruined. I cried a little.dune_rave wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 9:48 pm Its strange that omnisphere is called the best synth, but don't have skins at all.

Sorry if you took my comment as a negative it's not. I customize every GUI and match that up with physical controllers. So if I am on say the "Layers Page"
And want to tweak an envelope or filter or effect I can do so without having to jump to a different page.
or if I want to adjust the rate or depth of LFO 6 I can just turn the physical knob to do so, or have an expanded view of them on a separate monitor
The GUI of Omnisphere is awesome, the programmability of the interface and the ability to enhance it especially with physical controls even better

Anyone here using the hardware integration? I haven't gone too deep into it, but I remember hooking up my old Virus TI and comparing the sounds. While the results were almost as different as you could get, it was still good enough for further work. The TI is really a complex synth, and I though maybe something simpler would result in closer results.
Not important at all - just curious if you guy have any deeper experience with the HW connections.

Is there a link that explains the new filters? once again, i hope some are not emulations but either way i'm curious.
https://support.spectrasonics.net/manua ... ers-page24
Goes over all of the available filters old and new. If they are modeled after something it will tell you what they are modeled after. For example "OB LPF 2/4 poles" is a Oberheim-style filter. The Legacy filters are all listed also and some of those have been around for a long time but still work and sound very well. The "UVI" filters for example are the original filters that were in the Atmosphere product from 2002 that eventually became Omnisphere. Those original UVI filters have now been enhanced in the "French" filter which I really like
https://support.spectrasonics.net/manua ... ?q=filters
but your link got me close enough.
Still wondering about the "juicy" and "saucy" filter (aside from "smooth at high resonance". Would have been nice to see some more styles like elliptic . It's still a good collection.

I messed around with them quite a bit in the old 2.5 version and have just scratched the surface of them with version 3DrGonzo wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 5:42 am Anyone here using the hardware integration? They seem to function the same way. Basically they took the full Omnisphere plugin and distilled it down to mimic the options and physical controls on each hardware synth
They essentially are Spectrasonics reimagined versions of the Synths right down to limited Oscillators and even limited Wavetables to drive them with limited waveforms if you have loaded an analog style synth
What's cool about them is that you don't have to own the hardware to use them and if you are into presets they made a bunch of them for 2.5 for all of the Synths that are still in library
If you own the hardware, it's a no brainier to use them, but if you don't you can just use a mouse or easily program a MIDI controller to
They just provide a fun and different way to do things in Omnisphere that's almost like having dozens of entirely different plugins

Did you use it with a controller, like a synth, or just with mouse?IvyBirds wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 1:41 am I messed around with them quite a bit in the old 2.5 version and have just scratched the surface of them with version 3

I did it with controllers mainly. There is a function called "user tweaks" that makes using controllers with them super easy. Basically once you load the default profile for a hardware synth, you can then right click on the various things in screen and select "clear all MIDI Learns" and all of the default programming for the actual hardware synth will be erased
Then use the regular MIDI Learn CC menu and program the on screen controls to knobs or faders on your controller to program how you like
When you are done setting it up how you want select "save user tweaks" from the Hardware Integration Menu. Your changes are now saved and every time you load that hardware profile it will automatically load your custom programming for your controller
It's really easy to do and setup and quite powerful
One final tip with the hardware integration is to select in the Hardware Integration Menu the "Link Omnisphere GUI" option. I can't begin to express how cool I find this
Let's say you have a knob setup on your controller to be the filter cutoff knob. when you turn the knob to adjust the filter it will automatically display the proper page on your screen for all the filter controls, tweak the envelope the page view on screen will change to envelope, adjust the reverb and it will go to the reverb page. This is cool because you don't need to program everything just the main things for whatever and when you move that control all the options for it will be onscreen where you can jump in with the mouse for more esoteric things
That becomes especially helpful when changing waveforms as you can see it on the screen as you turn the knob without touching a mouse
One final thought on the "Link GUI" option. I have several controllers that have drum pads on them that I don't really use for anything. Using the "link GUI" you can set those up as Macros to take you to various pages. All you need to do is set them to a Midi CC value and then program that to something on whatever page you want. Then hit the pad and the screen will take you thrre
