Like our recent updates of Filterscape, MFM2 and Uhbik, we have replaced ancient textbook DSP code with analogue-derived models that behave much better when modulated. And of course they now have 12 different responses. IMHO Highpass filters in particular are underrated because they can add quite the bottom.

Every time you mention highpass it always remind me of the Repro-5 HPF audio clip you posted a while ago where it growled like crazy. Is there anything similar in Z3 right now? I'm a big fan of crazy filters like that or the one in MS-20.

The range of filters currently on offer is insane - especially with everything we can feed into them and modulate filters with ....

I like how the current-state filter selector reminds me of playing Battleship. Sure, some might say it's more like the VCS3 or something, but I say Battleship.

That sounds interesting. I wouldn't usually link a hp with growls - where's that link?

It's like 2-3 years ago in a random thread. Really hard to find now.

Agree, 88 is a good number. Keyswitches for changing filter type on the fly, using every key on a full-size keyboard.

Yeah, that filter is wild. Hard too tame, sometimes just explodes, and I'm not sure how to make it really stable. But I think we have just the man to help me out here.

Was a bit of a joke but that's a good point.

Sure, we'll see, maybe, later down the road.

Initially, 87 algorithms need to be sufficient, otherwise we won't release anything before it's Zebra 3.8
Careful. The next number is a trigger for many in the US. Put in at least two and jump that idiocy. ;)

But 87 seems more than sufficient to me.

Wait till you hear what this number is code for in Germany.

No worries, I'm determined to extend filter types in sets of 3, 6 or 12.

The ones that made it in there are on par with Diva and Repro.

Urs wrote: Mon Nov 17, 2025 6:21 pm But what's probably a lot more interesting to explore than any of the prior, is the new Modal Synthesis part.

What are the differences between the 2 modules? I always thought all physical modelling synths use same method; short impulse + really short delay with feedback to excite it.
