TAL Sampler and Drum are great, but I haven't tried their Roland synth emulations. Their semi-modular thing is pretty cool, though.

Yes, TAL Sampler is great. I use it all the time. Sadly, I don't get nearly as much use out of the synths, which I can only attribute to the GUI's because the sounds are great.

Oh that is a bummer. What do you not like about the GUIs? Are they too busy or crowded? I looked at Cherry Audio Sines and Dreamsynth this time, and their GUIs, especially for the latter, are too crowded and busy for my liking. Sometimes it is better to not try to fit everything on one page.

I agree with you that Dreamsynth has a big busy GUI.
I have to enlarge it to see it all nicely and it takes most of my widescreen
But I don't mind it, as I think it sounds great, is fun to tweak, has great presets and UX.
I do recommend Dreamsynth, Cherry Audio synths are great value for money.

I really wish companies would learn the difference between "freeware" and "hookware" which I define as anything that requires the installation of software which allows them to get their hooks into your system. "Dataware" is anything requiring us to give up data such as name, address, phone number, etc. Of course we all use fake names and addresses so it does them no good to know my name is Nunya Bidness or Gofuk Yaself and I live at an address that does not exist.

Why in your opinion some launcher from UAD or IKM or Waves or Softube or Arturia or Melda or NI or UVI or you name it is not "hookware" then? I personally hate all those launchers or software centers or whatever they like to call it, but this is how companies prefer to do things. And until we stop paying for things we don't like we'll have them. We can of course go cracked, no launchers there, no dataware. Or even better, go offline.
As for Pulse, since I already had it installed, it wasn't that much of a problem for me.
