Zebralette is freeware, it doesn't need a registration. The option to import a license card is there so you can authorize all our commercial plug-ins from one plug-in with a single license card.p5c wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 6:48 pm However: even after restarting my host, Zebralette 3's control bar data display still shows "Zebralette 3.0.0 / (c) 2025 by u-he" instead of "Zebralette 3.0.0 / registered to _______" like my older registered u-he products.

Hehe, nice.
I have a question regarding buying a Zebra 3 upgrade license:
A lot of people here already seem to have a Zebra 3 license... Where can I buy the Zebra 2->3 upgrade as a long time Zebra 2 user (I never bought HZ)? Or are these people all alpha testers? If so, will I get info once the upgrade or beta is ready?

Yes, so, the plan is this: Once the public beta hits, your license email will have a link to purchase the upgrade for 30€. There'll also be a note that you need to use the same email address fort he purchase.ffx wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 7:45 am Hehe, nice.

The people who have Zebra 3 in their accounts already are all the people who also had The Dark Zebra. The upgrade is free for them.

Why do you think you need to keep the PNG file on your computer after youve used it?ThomasLehmann wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 6:46 pm The license card idea isn't bad in principle, but now I have a PNG file somewhere on my computer with my full, visible name and email address ? Is the PNG file at least encrypted on the computer ?

Another addendum to the first post... I guess we have to clarify that people who have gotten Zebra 3 for cheap/free because of Z2/TDZ can't just sell Z2/TDZ and get to keep their Zebra 3...
Also, when we write
"In future we want to use License Cards to automate license transfers"
We mean that "removing a license from a card" is going to be the proof that a product is deactivated *before* we transfer a license. We have not coded this yet, but we have a fun way of doing it, you'll see... so once Zebra 3 is out, we'll require this procedure. I'll talk to the team next week and see how we react to license transfers before this is possible. Maybe we need yet another disclaimer about this...

Is that why on the Licence Card, Zebra3 is displayed in white text (like all the other standalone purchased products?) While Zebra2 and Zebra Legacy appear in gray text?Urs wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 11:03 am Another addendum to the first post... i.e. To visually indicate to the end user that those licences are linked to the free Zebra3 licence and as such cannot be sold/transferred separately as individual plugins? Makes sense, if that's the case.
Although, why anyone would want to sell them is beyond me. Personally, I'm keeping my Zebra2/HZ licences forever, as I still love those synths and use them all the time and have so many projects made with those great synths.
And it makes even less sense to want to sell those, since their Z2 presets are not compatible with Z3.
Are there some customers who only recently purchased licences for Z2/HZ just before Zebra Legacy released, hoping to obtain a completely free Zebra3 licence, only to still sell on the aforementioned licences for profit?
If so, that would have been pretty crafty of them. Glad you closed that potential loophole
