Would appreciate if you could add this option to Zebra3 and later to the other plugins as well. It modifies the init preset loaded whenever the synth is initialized. Right now relying on saving it as an Ableton preset after setting the parameters to the values I prefer and locking them.

Also, just to clarify, how long do you have to own Zebra Legacy, to get the free / or discounded upgrade, to Zebra 3?
I believe this has been explainde but I've lost the post about that, sorry.

Hehehe, it seems we have to clarify this a lot... most of our customer support today is this question.

So when Zebra Legacy came out as a product, it replaced Zebra 2 as a product. In the news for it, in forum posts and pretty much everywhere else we were clear that once Zebra Legacy became available, we would *not* include an upgrade path to Zebra 3:

As Zebra Legacy is such a bargain, we will not be offering a Zebra3 upgrade path from the new 99 € licenses.

However, due to the frequent questions about it we *might* be offering a coupon code once Zebra 3 is released. But this coupon code, should we offer it, would certainly be less than 70€ towards Zebra 3. Hence, the current pre-order discount (179€ instead of 249€) is the best price possible for some time to come, also for owners of a Zebra Legacy license.

Just save a preset called "default" (with the .h2p ending) in the root folder ("Local") of the preset library. Works for all u-he plug-ins.

Your controllers sends MIDI, so you can easily tell Zebra3 which MIDI CCs you want to connect to Control A-D and you're done, realtime control of these performance controls. And these are then recorded (or drawn like automation) in the MIDI clip.

I don't want to get into the weeds here but no, there is a difference between a control surface in Logic, and a generic MIDI controller - one device can't be both, and when you've got seamless intelligent plugin control, going back to manual/dumb generic MIDI, whether that's adding or switching to another MIDI controller device, or having to manually switch controller modes and templates, is not a solution. These is good reason I was asking for the specific request.

But Urs has already said likely these controls will become automatable, which is all I was asking/hoping for, so we're good!

I'm loving what I'm seeing already. All in all a great update, with workflow enhancements and better GUI.
Here a short feedback in case anyone is interested

Bug:
- WIP filter selector does not open for Filters in Bus section
- Switching between Curve and Curve Spectrum stopped sound in rare cases

Great:
- Module selector when clicking on empty module slot (would also love a Module selector in the FX section (I don't like these drop downs )
- Mod Matrix
- unified filter selector (WIP)

Could be improved:
- MSEG editor is just too technical with the icons on the left. which are not self explanatory and cryptic. I know Documentation is there, but I've seen (easier) implementations at eg. CableGuys. Although I know Z3 is far more complex of course. Possibly the skin could be enhanced with some text (without having to hover) or a on mouse over help (which could be turned off by pros)
- Screen space is very limited. I know where Z3 is coming from, but on a 1440p monitor I'd love to resize the interface, that I'd see more horizontal space for Bus modules and more vertical space for lane modules (on the left and right of the module flow). I hope a future skin or resizable function could add this

Feature Requests:
- Module selector in the FX section (similar to the one in the module lane)
- Module presets (especially for effects, but also welcome for other modules. Eg. to have pre-setup vintage synth like envelopes)
- more screen space skin (said above)
- I know this probably a design decision, but I'd love to have knobs for selection of timebase in LFO
- Readout of values is limited to the top. I'd really love if it could be readable at the knob/fader when changing values. Eg. Softube does this already, and it would improve workflow, as we wouldn't have to look from the knob to the top all the time to get the current value

In that patch if you look at the oscillator panel in the main section of the synth (Not the osc1 Tab at the bottom) underneath tune you'll see MSEG1 in the mod slot. To the left of that is a widget (Two vertical arrows facing opposite directions). That controls the depth of the modulation in the slot. If you adjust it you'll see that it's set to 12.

That was the point I was making above. Those slot modulations should appear as modulators in the OSC tab at the bottom.

One thing I did notice is that if I modulate the tune control by dragging from the MSEG node to the tuning knob then the pitch is not scaled correctly but it is on the mod slot. It could be that the slot modulation is scaled logarithmically or something like the Mel scale so it conforms to pitch.

Doh, for some reason the arrows didn't register in my brain.

If you drag from the MSEG node to the tuning knob you need to set the amount to 25 for the correct pitch. The MSEG in the osc goes from 0 to 48, but the other MSEG goes to 100. Not sure why they'd use different scaling, that's confusing.

Ok, I get it Thanks Urs! Very much looking forward to getting back into the Uhe family Its probably going to Feb, before I can add any software, as I had to replace my vehicle and some minor repairs AND its Property tax time here in the States, so I may just wait and pay the full retail, as the intro price my expire before I can upgrade, but even at full price, I know Zebra3, will be WELL worth it! I didn't want to push the "env mod" suggestions any further (because the guys are probably pretty swamped with requests ATM), but it should probably a dedicated knob (unless they maybe do separate knobs for "A", "D" and "R" (or if they do graphical envelopes a la Serum)).
