No, we moved Z2 into a completely separate (but affordable!) product called "Zebra Legacy", which we continue to maintain for as long as we possibly can.

OK, found it in this thread. I originally went to see in the Linux support section.
All clear. Made me remember that Zebra HZ was the last u-he synth I bought. Someone at u-he (I don't remember who) when seeing that I almost bought all the synths, gave me the last one I was missing : Filterscape. Since then I always saw u-he as a very nice company, and it still goes on today.Urs wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 5:43 pmThe kostenlos part is for people who separately bought Zebra 2 and The Dark Zebra before they both got turned into Zebra Legacy. About the card : are you using steganography, with the graphic part only being a facade ?

Nah... we just embed a plain json file into the text section of the meta data.mevla wrote: Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:19 pm About the card : are you using steganography, with the graphic part only being a facade ?
The point pattern on the front however are indeed 128 bits of checksum that are individual, more or less, for each card.

The modal filters, exciters and noise oscillators in Z3 are really fantastic, so many possibilities, features and pristine sound quality, bravo!

So, in Live, I have MIDI mapped a parameter in my soft synth to a fader or a knob on my Novation Impulse controller. Is this what you mean? I believe this would allow me to control/play the ABCD with my faders?PieBerger wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 10:18 amIn the meantime, Live and Bitwig users at least, can automate the knobs of their respective MIDI CC devices. Bitwig 100% has a native one and I've used a free/cheap 3rd party M4L device in Live before but maybe there is a native one now.Urs wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:36 am One of the things on our eternal ToDo list is to also add visual feedback to ABCD, and the ability to automate them in the DAW for those who prefer that over MIDI.
I apologise if this seems slow on my part. Thank you for the help.

What you have described will allow you to control the ABCD knobs yes, but it's not what I originally suggested. For users who don't have a MIDI controller, that want to control those knobs without having to open the UI and or to record host automation, they can use the CC device instead.sayatnova wrote: Sun Dec 14, 2025 7:19 amSo, in Live, I have MIDI mapped a parameter in my soft synth to a fader or a knob on my Novation Impulse controller. Looking forward to a stellar Zebra 3 preset collection from you in the upcoming months. It's really interesting what you will come up with given the quality of your soundpacks for Zebra 2, Chromaphone, Filterverse and the fact that Zebra 3 combines some nice features of all of them.Sampleconstruct wrote: Sat Dec 13, 2025 4:49 pm The modal filters, exciters and noise oscillators in Z3 are really fantastic, so many possibilities, features and pristine sound quality, bravo!

It's really incredible - even just the main oscs are so advanced but put together with the physical modelling capabilities and also with things like the Pitches panel this is a synth built for the futureSampleconstruct wrote: Sat Dec 13, 2025 4:49 pm The modal filters, exciters and noise oscillators in Z3 are really fantastic, so many possibilities, features and pristine sound quality, bravo!

Please don’t sink too much time or manpower into Legacy. Z3 is where the future is and at some point people need to let go of the old versions so you can focus fully on developing and maintaining v3.Urs wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 8:55 pmNo, we moved Z2 into a completely separate (but affordable!) product called "Zebra Legacy", which we continue to maintain for as long as we possibly can.

It's called Legacy for a reason. No new features, just maintenance and whatever additions our framework gets in the future. Maybe Win ARM support and such.enCiphered wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 11:23 amPlease don’t sink too much time or manpower into Legacy.
