I know that IK Multimedia uses a complicated authentication scheme for SampleTank, so I'm guessing that the only way to use Sampletank in Receptor is to wait for IK to offer a crossgrade to the Receptor platform.

Can anyone confirm my suspicions, and/or provide any information on the possibility of IK Multimedia supporting this system? Also, in general, are there issues with using sample based instruments in Receptor?

Thanks

well...EVE is on it which is a sample based plug. I also got Symtohm Mellohman to work which is also sample based. You basically use the sample Directory to put your samples into, then redirect the plugin to see that path. Symtohm has a dialog to do just that.

However I would post on the "Plugs you want receptorized thread" for the sample machine you want on receptor so musers can see the list.

Thanks, I will take your advise regarding posting.

It's also good to know that Receptor's architecture is set up for sample based plugs in general. It's sampletank's authentication scheme that has me worried, though...

I am happy to report that UKAS now works on receptor..I think I was having a bad install day when my unit freaked out the day I tried it. However tried it again, and UKAS works great!

also a VST called KLAUS which mimics Klause Shultz sequences. I don't have the link to it however, I just had it in my VST folder and tried it. it works!

Another one: SUPERWAVE P8! a nice synth..you can download patches for it on PA. Another nice one working on Receptor

Just tried some more:

MR RAY: epiano module. very nice!
Dream Sequencer: analog sequencer
Ephonic Invader: effect generator and more
Arpecyza! : analog sequencer

all installed! Guess I am on a roll.

Anybody tried installing any of the plugs on this thread?

i could not get UKAS (version 1.2) to work.
here are my steps ...

- under XP, run UKASsetup.exe.
- copy the UKAS.dll from C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins to \\Receptor\Hard Drive\Drop Installers Here
- from the receptor front panel, press setup and scroll to SU Install/Upgrade
- select Yes.
- the SU Install/Upgrade reports Failed:1

am i doing something wrong?

you want to go to the unsupported VST plugin directory in the program file directory

Post

i guess i should have read the manual first. still, if i copy UKAS.dll to the 'Unsupported Plugins' folder, the install still fails.

What I would do is first install UKAS on your PC with all the directories intact.
Then in the unsupported plugins folder, create folder called UKAS. Copy the whole folder you created on your PC there. Then go to setup in receptor, and try installing it.
( but remember to delete your previous UKAS.dll and the accompanying info file first)

Hi,

I've just seen the receptor.
I would use it for live FXes.
Is there any Lin phase Eq for it?
Can I use the waves plugins and the voxengo ones?
What do you think, can I run SIR reverb on it? (VST)
SIR is a freeware and is a convolution reverb.
I would like to use the Receptor with our digital consoles using digital I/Os.
How many digital I/Os can I have @96kHz?

Thanks,

Tamas

Waves plugins are not supported but SIR works.

Voxengo CurveEQ can be installed and registered fine. Elephant installs OK but I couldn't register it.

I haven't tried any of the other Voxengo stuff yet...

Thanks This is a great Help...
What are you thinking, how many SIR or voxengo pristine space stereo convolution reverbs can I run at the same time without CPU overload at 48kHz and at96kHz?
I didn' found any downloadable manual for the Receptor. How many DIO can I have at 96kHz and at48kHz??

Thanks,

Tamas
