I noticed you asked for custom lists such as grouping together all banks by 'The Unfinished' etc- I have been doing this for some time by just reorganising the user patches folder. When you load the top level directory eg 'The Unfinished' or 'Luftrum' then all the banks appear in the Categories list below itnoiseboyuk wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 7:57 am Back in this thread for one post directed any anyone who is frustrated by any aspect of the current browser.
I've been in dialogue with Spectrasonics over this who have been great, and they are in the process of making what sounds like major changes. On the specifics of the star ratings on multiple patches, they said "We are actively working on a solution to this and other related issues".
I don't wish to follow up on any discussion here, but for anyone interested in the whole subject head over to VI - https://vi-control.net/community/thread ... ser.167319. Spectrasonics have responded in surprising detail about both their thinking that led here and the future direction of travel.
They are truly a class act.

Vangelis for Omnisphere 3 as I am sure you know is from Luftrum. Did you deliberately leave it out of the method you use or does this method only works for omni 1 and 2 banks?

I'd just forgotten to add it as it was a recent update - it works for them allzvenx wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 1:31 pm Vangelis for Omnisphere 3 as I am sure you know is from Luftrum. Did you deliberately leave it out of the method you use or does this method only works for omni 1 and 2 banks?

Added now - looks like with the Omni 3 libraries it also adds sub banks

Great thread over at VI, thanks for that. Promising discussions with spectrasonics!noiseboyuk wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 7:57 am Back in this thread for one post directed any anyone who is frustrated by any aspect of the current browser.

And you had a lot of patience listing all the ways that things go wrong and are made more difficult with the new system. Honestly none of it works intuitively so it was a very long list of issues! So good on you for having the patience to go through so many problems.
And I fully agree that those themes could have just been projects or tags or whatever. Would have solved everything. And they could have been the very first filter to “encourage” people to first pick a theme, which seems to have been the goal.

Only no one said that, we were just told using the program the way it was designed to run makes us all dumber and that Eric Persing made a stupid mistake when it was designedbillinder33 wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 10:19 amWe were just told in no uncertain terms that Eric is a supergenius and worked 10 years on this system and that it's perfect and working 100% as intended. I mean why learn to use the actual software when you can moan and lie on a forum and say people said things they didn't
The thread on the other forum also validates every single thing I said about the new system. It wasn't a mistake as you claimed and it absolutely is what Eric intended

Ah, I just tried this and it messes everything up - as you say the individual banks appear as categories, but that means all the regular categories (ARP+BPM, Synth mono etc) vanish completely.aMUSEd wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 11:58 amI noticed you asked for custom lists such as grouping together all banks by 'The Unfinished' etc- I have been doing this for some time by just reorganising the user patches folder. Sorry I didn't really care about that at the time I did it (in fact had completely forgotten it did that it was so long ago - goes back to Omni 1 I think) - and the tagging is still intact if you need it (Vangelis for Omnisphere 3 seems to retain them though even though the folder organisation is the same so must be an Omni 3 thing)
Also it looks like many of the third party banks I have aren’t even organised into category folders

You just switch from the custom controls to the standard ones, then save your rack preset as usual

Talking about the effects, I noticed that Super Verb saturates the signal quite a lot (at least to my tastes). There seems to be no way of controlling the amount of saturation (except with gain staging), and the reverb type setting doesn't affect it either. In contrast, Velvet Reverb & Spring Reverb seem to be pretty much linear (not adding any harmonics).
Nothing wrong with a saturating reverb per se, but _usually_ reverbs are pretty much clean/linear by default, and Super Verb particularly feels like it wants be a sort of "modern" reverb, so having a forced saturation in there feels a bit... odd? It makes Super Verb sound kind of dirty, which is great in some situations, but it would be nice to be able to dial it down.
I couldn't find this discussed anywhere else, so maybe I'm just missing something very obvious

Have you tried adjusting the ducking knob? Basically that controls how much of the old signal is left when new signal enters the reverb. If you have this set to high all of the new signal keeps on getting added to the all of the old signal which can cause saturationCaptain wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 10:28 am Talking about the effects, I noticed that Super Verb saturates the signal quite a lot (at least to my tastes). The ducking knob is essentially controlling a compressor with just a single knob. This works great in short sounds like drums or arps and can work wonders on lead vocals as well, but will sound saturated and weird on longer sustained sounds like pads
Not sure if this is what's happening or not, but would be my guess
I also think all of the effects in Omnisphere 3 can either benefit from some signal reduction or are not harmed by it. We are also blessed to have a ton of effects slots available. As a result I put the 12 band EQ first in the chain and reduce every band by 10 DB. Then use its output to adjust the final level. I ave that saved as a preset. That is an easy cheat code for a transparent signal cut ahead of everything else you might want to use. You could also use one of the compressors but they can introduce color and dynamics

There's the imager thing in the utility folder. It's what i use to gain stage things.

It's not ducking, this happens even when you have it at zero. Just play a pure sine wave through Super Verb (no matter what the settings) and check a spectrum analyzer, and you'll see a ton of added harmonics (and you'll hear it too). Again, not a bad thing per se, but not being able to control it is not nice...IvyBirds wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 9:35 pm Have you tried adjusting the ducking knob? When I first noticed this I thought "ah, it must be the Sauce knob", since that sounds exactly like something that would add some dirt and character to the reverb. But turns out it controls the amount of modulation, and the saturation is just always there
