Did they remove the GPU acceleration from the GUI? It now stutters like hell, with 10fps or so, on a very fast macOS M2 pro machine.

Runs fine so far on mine (Windows 10, i5 cpu). Never checked cpu usage with Pigments, so I don't know if it's any better.

I wish the updates for their synths wouldn't break the directories/installed resources/whatever. "Installed resources version n.nn.nnn does not match installed version x.xx.xxx, to fix blah blah blah reinstall..." 2.5 GB on a poor connection takes a couple of hours. Longer if you use their installation manager.

A lot of their freebies so far have been things that have been based on components pulled out of their synths (the Juno Chorus, MS filter, Tape Mello, etc), so it only would make sense to pull the trance gate out into its own effect.
I was surprised that the trance gate didn't make it into the latest version of Pigments, along with the new multi layer arp from Sem V3 etc
You can use the Functions with one of the presets and then assign to what you'd like. There is one preset called Trance Gate.

I especially liked the improved filters and effects in Pigments 7. The new filters (Rage, Ripple, Reverb) and the Corroder effect added more organic and gritty character to the sound, which is great for those who previously found Pigments too digital.

has anyone noticed that last version of pigments is a huge memory hog? 1 instance takes ~1.9-2 gigs of ram which is insane.

I do have 64gb of ddr5 :-)

I would get a better coded plugin, from a better dev. But that's just my opinion.

Did Arturia acknowledge that they are aware of it, maybe on their official forum?

I hadn't noticed before, but yep it's the same here; I don't know if it's always been that heavy on resources or if increased a lot in v7, though it's never really been a lightweight synth.

Additional instances take another ~500mb each - 40 instances of Pigments takes Reaper's memory usage from 150mb at startup, to ~21GB (not that I'm likely to ever use that many instances in one project...).

I wanted to test it with a more recent GPU before reporting it, which I have just done, but unfortunately it's the same. I'm experiencing the same with an older nVidia 1050 GTX and a new RTX 5060 too. Reported it a few minutes ago.

It seems like it's resolution dependent, on a 2560x1440 screen it allocates 1.5-1.8 GB for me.

RTX 3050 here doesn't use much of it's memory no matter how many Pigments are open.
Five instances of Pigments take up around 7 GB in my case.
2560x1440, RTX 3050, Cubase
I hope they will offer some kind of solution, maybe option to turn off visual eye candy or something similar.
Edit: Just noticed that memory usage drops drastically after a while, now it's 2 GB instead of 7 GB on startup.

Isn't Analog Lab Pro doing similar things?
