MrJubbly, thanks for your detailed report. It seems like I'm no closer to fixing this issue than I was at the start
Although the workaround is simple, I'm worried that the issue might be a symptom of a bigger problem (especially after reading the post after yours). It seems like v4.0.4 is no nearer release than it was three years ago.

If you're referring to my post, I'm still using 4.0.3 , so I don't know if the muting problem is still present in 4.0.4. I will try 4.0.4 as soon as possibile, sorry for the confusion.

maxdis, thanks for your report. I use Windows 11 and Reaper for most of my testing and haven't noticed any loud distortion, but I did get another report of what sounded like the same issue from a very angry and rude person who didn't want to try ArcSyn again, so I didn't bother to communicate with him further. One issue I have is that since I started writing plug-ins, I no longer have any time to write music, which would be an ideal way of testing my plug-ins at length.
So I'll have to try some more testing, perhaps focussing on the Patchbass preset. Please let me know if you're able to isolate the issue as it's most probably due to something like ArcSyn not liking a particular sequence of effects being switched, or something similar.

With Microsoft forcing people onto Windows 11 i would love to see a linux version for this gem of a plugin. Could also be offered as experimental/ not as much support, just so people who want to use it on linux can.

dvd98, I'll have another look at this, although I have literally never used Linux so I'm not sure where to even start, or which version to use.

Thanks for taking a look.SPC Plugins wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 7:15 am dvd98, I'll have another look at this, although I have literally never used Linux so I'm not sure where to even start, or which version to use.
I would recommend Ubuntu (ubuntu.com/desktop), as it is probably the most widespread OS among Linux desktop users. It is easy to install and use.
I assume this is built using Juce? They should have some docs on this.
Also there are some helpful discords which probably would be glad to help if you run into problems (the audio programmer, surge xt team).
I'm also happy to help if you got any linux questions, don't know much about juce though.

Wanted to give my thanks for making this Apple compatible - I love this synth. For those of us who are not as highly educated as those who know, for example, Zebra inside and out, the choice of oscillators and shaping, alone, gives me more than I need to create what I hear in my mind - and then some. I have dozens of really good plugins, but this one is tops for me. Thanks, Steven - I'd hound you to get Morphilter silicon compatible, but a bird in the hand...

Bodhisan, thank you for your praise for ArcSyn. It's really good to know that people are still using it in their music making.
I'm afraid I have no plans to release a silicon compatible Morphilter as it would need to be completely rewritten
In fact, I intend to discontinue Freek, Gater, Morphilter and Wobbulator as they're too much work to update and it's been literally years since I sold one. I've already done some work on an updated version of my website with those plug-ins removed. Having said that, and thinking about it as I type, it's something I could keep in mind as a future project.

Still one of my favorite instruments. The sound quality and possibilities are incredible!
Thank you so much for creating and sharing it with us.

damstraversaz, thank you for your comments. Sound quality was something I put a lot of effort into getting right.

Indeed. I was given a free beta license but I bought one anyway because I love this synth.

Hi,
Did the licensing/authentication change with the latest versions? I am trying to enter my license into the latest macOS beta but I can't seem to enter space characters into the username, so it says my license is invalid.
Also, in Reaper I can't paste the license key because ArcSyn doesn't capture that key. Not a big issue, just a bit painful to enter the whole key by typing. Maybe a button to "paste from clipboard" would be cool.
Cheers
