Well to my knowledge . (dot) is the decimal separator for USD currency, so it is 9 (nine) dollars. But we should correct the display and display 2 digits after the -> $9.00

The credit coupons we sent out earlier in March expired on April 1 23:59 PM

Hi there, here is when the plugin connects to our server:

1. The plugin refreshes license key file every 30 days, if there is an internet connection and if the server is up. If there is no internet connection or server connection is down, it keeps using the existing license key file.

2. The plugin refreshes SynthMasterProducts.xml file every day if there is an internet connection and if the server is up. If there is no internet connection or server connection is down, it keeps using the existing SynthMasterProducts.xml file

3. The plugin checks for updates daily/weekly if you turned on "check for updates" under settings.

Hi everyone, I am starting redesigning the UI for our SynthMaster 3.5 update. SynthMaster 3 iPad will use the same layouts as well. I am hoping that this design will be better in terms of workflow.

Here's how the Tab View will look like in this new design:

Tab View.png

My main goal will be letting the user fit more oscillators & modulation sources on the screen. For quick sound design this is essential. Going back and forth between tabs discourage users from using SynthMaster 3 I guess, so here we go with a new take. I am planning to provide 3 different sizes for modules: Minimized, Normal and Maximized.

As you will see from the screenshots the mod matrix is gone. I looked at competitors, Serum 1/2 has a separate tab to display the entire mod matrix, Pigments / PhasePlant doesn't have a dedicated mod matrix page. I will still display mod matrix, but when necessary:

1. User right clicks on a knob, selects "Edit modulations" menu : a popover mod matrix window displays next to the knob, then user can edit modulations from this window.

2. User right clicks on a modulation source, selects "Edit modulations" menu: a popover mod matrix window displays above the modulation source, then user can edit modulations from this window.

Just like before, when you click on a modulation source, the target knobs and sliders are highlighted and you can edit modulation amounts for the selected modulation source. This wont't change.

BTW, once I finalize this new layout, I won't make the same mistake of releasing it immediately, but have it skinned by a professional. We are currently working with Mik Skuza for SynthMaster 3 Player iOS:

Please share your thoughts on the new design

Thanks!

Looks good Bulent! I don't need to see a mod matrix all the time, so I think your changes make sense. :tu:

Willing to make free 10 000 presets pack and to upload it for sm users,if kv331 donate symbolic amount of money.
Hi, perhaps you could sell the 10,000 presets pack to KV331 and they could increase the number of supplied presets to 10,000 plus however many SynthMaster 3 comes with - surely that would really increase sales?

Post

Looking forward to how this develops.
First screenshot looks interesting and yes, I hardly ever used the mod matrix, so I am good with removing it. ;-)

The tabs on the left make sense and add structure, but leave a lot of empty space. Can they be like

Or is that bad too?

Don't know Mik but hope that he has a good taste for colour - so far kv133 products never really felt up to date in that regard which - IMHO - held back the general appeal of this fantastic synth.
Looks are so important these days - people just expect high end gear to also look high end.

I could do without the blueish tint. More or less monochrome and a user selectable highlight colour would do it for me.
Then have a bright and a dark version and go for slick and minimal.

But yeah, great you get some help with this!!!!

Cheers,

Tom

What a nightmare to wade through 10 000 presets from a single sound designer. The bigger the collection the lower the quality. Just my experience. Even if there are 100 good sounds in it, its almost impossible to find them…
The sound collection available for Synthmaster is already pretty good…

Totally agree.
It's not the numbers, it's the quality - and synthmaster is very good in that regard ATM.

May I suggest having a look at the latest Zebra 3 Beta with the new UI?
Zebra3Beta.jpg
That is close to what I was talking about, with the added benefit of colours being used to differentiate between different elements and module-types, like many complex synths do.

I would need a bit more contrast and clarity overall and could do without the background gradients, but otherwise I think this is a viable inspiration to consider for Synthmaster 3 in parts.

Cheers,

Tom

For good structure and looks of a GUI that enhances workflow Vital is one of my ever benchmarks.
And the skinning feature helped me to like it even more.

Ohh noo! I hate to be THAT guy, but for me the always visible mod matrix is the single best feature of Synthmaster! Korg multipoly native has this also and it's awesone!
Aktually I always thought that other VSTs like for example Omnisphere should adopt this. The automatic filtering by target and source makes it really user friendly and to quickly see and change ALL the sources of a target without having to right click is just invaluable. In Omnisphere you have to right click and select "show modulation" or enter the "Mod Matrix Zoom".
Just imagine you're working on a complex patch and want to change some modulation - you right click and after you're done the pop-up windows goes away - if I want to change something else I have to right click AGAIN and if I want to adjust something else I have to right click AGAIN and AGAIN and ...
PLEASE make it an option to have the matrix permanently docked to the side of the windows. Please don't just take away a beloved feature but make it optional.
