I sent you a video because crackling and "audio will be lowering" if click on audiocable.
simple to reproduce.
Thx for reporting this :tu:
I also discovered that bug an hour ago and the bug fix is in the pipeline.

Kind request: If you share screen videos please always include the entire MuLab screen, not a cropped version. Thx.

MuLab Plugin M10.2.18 beta for Windows 64 bit is available:
https://www.mutools.com/mulab/plugin/la ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • Audio cable bug fix when an output is connected to multiple inputs and one or more cables applies gain/pan. Bug originated in M10.2.8.
  • File path fields: Upon click to open file browser while the file path is empty it showed a file browser with wrong colors. Fixed. Bug originated in M10.2.17.
  • Rack -> Render To Audio Track now also supports a selection of clips to narrow down the render.
  • Rack -> Render To Audio Track now also takes the "Audio Recording File Type" preference into account.

Sorry, but:

I would gladly send you the entire MuLab screen as a video in such cases. However, the video file size is too large, and your email client rejects it.

I create the screen recordings using Mac's built-in tools. I only test MuLab briefly when a new version is released, for a few minutes at a time (I also have to maintain our products), and unfortunately, I don't have nearly enough time to convert the video after recording or send it via other methods (Dropbox, etc.).

I always take great care to ensure that my bug videos clearly show the essential details for everyone to understand.

Just a heads-up: We also receive bug reports from our users in this format and always manage with such video clips. (Just like with the wild descriptions or names users give to the various editors, etc., within a program :D. I/we just have to live with that if I/we ultimately want helpful user advice/support ;))

So: no hard feelings.

Use FFMpeg to reencode it -- it'll get it down to about a tenth the size with no loss in quality.

Yes i agree these are wanted features. Can't give an ETA on it though.

You wrote in your acuall change-Log:
"Support for dropping a VST3 plugin folder on a slot, i.e. a "SomePlugin.vst3" folder which includes the actual .vst3 DLL file aside of other related files. Previously MuLab scanned it as a folder and added the plugin to the database, but did not insert that plugin into the target slot. Now it does."
But MuLab still doesn't even scan/find some VST's / VST folders (such as "ReNoise REDUX"). Or ignores them?
In fact, MuLab is currently the only DAW that does not recognize VST's like "REDUX".

As Jo mentioned in an earlier thread, Redux is missing the "PkgInfo" file. I think Redux is the only VST3 with this problem, there are none other "like" it.

To add PkgInfo to Redux, go to any VST3 synth (I used the free Dexed), click Show Package Contents, open the Contents folder, copy PkgInfo and paste into the Renoise Redux.vst3 folder and presto! Redux is instantly changed from a folder to a proper .vst3 plugin that loads in MuLab 10.2.18.

I had the same issue with some Arturia plugins. I reported it to them and was promptly ignored. I actually see it quite often. If i hadn't already paid for the suite, this is the kind of thing that tells me not to buy.

That said, I'm surprised regarding Redux. Renoise is pretty brilliant.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

I live a sheltered life, with no Arturia.
BTW, a PkgInfo file is only 8 bytes: BNDL????

I know. It's the most generic file on the Mac and when building your program, you can generate it on the fly, or just copy it over. It's so frustrating to see such a simple thing ignored.

I get used to stuff like that.
As a long-time Mac user, I have developed a high pain tolerance .

There are indeed other plugins with this feature.

However, these, like Redux, are recognized in EVERY OTHER DAW EXCEPT MuLab (Recognition is, after all, a matter of the DAW. Scanning/detecting VSTs/plugins has long been standard practice).

:D So, one could certainly ask where the problem lies: the DAW or the VST? If MuLab aims to eventually compete with other DAWs in terms of compatibility, it might make sense to improve this aspect as well. This is especially true if (as Jo once suggested) they don't want to be just another generic DAW.

Did you add PkgInfo to the Redux folder to fix it? Isn’t that what you want? It’s faster than posting!

The Smart Bypass feature doesn't seem to be working for me in this version, either set globally in the preferences or locally to the plugin. The plugin LED never dims and the cpu usage doesn't change once the plugins become idle. My preference settings are:

Plugin Silent Output Threshold dB: -180
Smart Bypass Threshold Time: 500
