I've been checking the IK site and harmony-central to see if anything has been officially announced yet, but alas not yet. Oh well... soon enough!

I plan on bugging you to give us the full scoop on frame 5 of that flash teaser.

I could be completely wrong, so you'll have to forgive me if I am, but I get the feeling that you were somehow involved in that one.

I can't wait to see the new software being presented at NAMM. looks great.

while we're talking about ik software, i just had one quick question for the ik experts. Can you edit the sample start, sample end and sample looping times on either Sample Tank 2 or Sonic Synth 2?

thanks

According to the press release we can't post the news until the 23rd (Sunday)

Hehe. Of course I am involved. Ever since IK and SR announced the whole strategic alliance move a year and a half ago the two companies work hand in hand on products like Sonik Synth 2, Studiophonik and... oh, not announced yet stuff! ;) But, yes, I get involved on a lot of levels and you better believe my interest in vintage effects will AFFECT something! However, I don't take away any credit because it is the brilliant programmers and designers that are amazing at what they can do. I am more of a fan or a musician who uses this stuff and wants the same things you guys want. The GEAR! I can't wait until you guys hear what that and all of the other news really is. With Sonik Synth 2 and all of the new stuff coming out IK is really taking "bang for the buck" to a whole new level. I know that sounds like pure marketing talk there but when you see the details you'll probably agree.

Are you here? I am going over to your booth in a couple of hours to meet Dan. We're going to try to use the Receptor on this live gig in a few days. He put Sonik Synth 2 in it. I can't wait.

About the news... well, everyone is in the same boat on the news request. But, out of all of the sites KVR is the only one that has me slowly spilling the beans a bit. You wouldn't deny me my fun! ;) New products at NAMM is one of the more fun things for a musician I think.

I'll give you guys a few hints because you're not doing that great putting the pieces of the puzzle together. One picture is an F hole of a violin. Another picture is of a Fuzzface. Another picture is of SampleTank's stretch section :o another picture is of Sonik Synth 3 (just kidding - most people don't even know SS2 is out yet! But, the show is the official launch pad for that... npi).

You obviously see a few pieces of logos in there too. Knobs (you gotta love knobs)...

All marketing talk has that kind of stuff. It happens to be true in this case but once you start being critical of the marketing words then you might as well be critical of the whole industry (or the whole world... ie. if I hear one more movie has two thumbs up and let it annoy me it is the beginning of the end! :D )

Yes and no. Basically no, but the engine has the capability and we use it in our internal programming. That feature may be brought out somehow in the future but I really couldn't say more than that. It could possibly even be brought out in the sound programming to a macro but as of now that would have to be done by us. Not easy to discuss this. Really if you are into messing around with samples at the sample level then other samplers may be more versatile for that sort of thing.

No, I'm not coming because Abby is too close to giving birth - I think it's more important to be with her than at NAMM ;)

Well, we'll see if any other sites wait until the show is over... It seems silly to me, anyone that visits the show can immediately come online and say they saw such and such a program at NAMM but the press aren't allowed to publish the news until the show is over.... great... :(

I mean, after I've spent hours removing all the marketing superlatives from the press releases too :hihi:

Congrats! I am a new Dad too. Nothing is better than that.

On the press releases, yeah, but I think sometimes you either want to be first or last when it comes to people remembering what you've got. Everyone usually wants to be first and the message can get lost in a sea of ME ME ME ME!!! So, sometimes it's nice to have a little time and room to confidently say "and me 2". (hint).

I WAS looking forward to seeing you in person though. I had a few things for you and not just a nifty new "Sample Everything" SR T-Shirt!

Best of luck with Ben jr! (or Betty if it's a girl)

Oooh! With two different stretch modes - "Note" and "Phrase"! There's going to be a SampleTank 2 update!

I am surprised that you guys didn't see that. It zooms by quick but I thought it was a clear giveaway. Speaking of giveaway, how cool would it be of IK if ST2 users could have those two stretch modes for free? Uh oh. Am I saying too much? :D

I thought I saw that someone had put together the pics as a jpeg. Where is it?

IK may have spilled some beans itself. I read the schedule for clinics because one is comong near me, and one of the programs to be featuerd was ST2.1 . Typo or clue?

Ok,,, i'll take a stab at it squids. Sounds like there's a ST2 upgrade, with an editor that allows time stretching which can work like a beat slicer, with the ability to graft effects and mic placements to shape the sounds. And Some new sting library. Am I close???
