Bumping my own question here, seems to have been overlookedThoughtExperiment wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 6:59 am Changing the subject, I have a question relating to multicore support.
I understand the additional complexity around modern CPUs makes the implementation of multicore support even trickier than it used to be. But I wonder what proportion of Z3 users base are still using 'old school' processors which don't have a mixture of cores?
Whatever optimizations were made on Z3 during the beta phase have worked really well, such that I can run a single instance with only a very few patches causing glitches. However, multiple instances of Z3 soon start to tax my CPU.
Speaking for myself, the 'MC' button on, say, Bazille, works just fine on my fairly recently built PC. Would it be feasible to add this kind of multicore support on the understanding that it would only work on 'older' machines, while work continues on developing comprehensive support?
I can't speak about MC atm. It's on our list of things to look into within the next 2-3 months, but nobody at u-he has done it yet.ThoughtExperiment wrote: Sat May 23, 2026 9:37 pmBumping my own question here, seems to have been overlookedThoughtExperiment wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 6:59 am Changing the subject, I have a question relating to multicore support.

Thank you, Urs.Urs wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 9:38 am A grid slicing tool wasn't requested yet... I had thought about it, but then dismissed it because it'll probably add extraneous amounts of points.
MSEGs can be half timed or double timed in the enlarged editor (toolbox on the left, pretty much down at the bottom)
I would be all over this, ZebraHZ as well, need a skin that looks exactly like thatShiek927 wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 4:46 pm
I hope someone will make a skin inspired by the OG Zebra2. It feels too appropriate![]()
I also love the old Zebra 2 skin and the legacy skin of Zebra 2 as well. Hope that we will see the new skins in the updates from U-HE.Shiek927 wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 4:46 pm
