Yes please. I keep trying out v6 and this keeps sending me back to 5.3. Have you emailed bitwig about this? I've been trying to get other people for whom this is a major regression from both the discord and bitwish to contact them and express their frustration

Coming up on 7 months since they first announced Bitwig 6. Hopefully not too long now until 6.1

I think we should have an option to not reset the zoom each time and the choice to pin tracks if needed.

I hope 6.1 mainly focuses on new devices/grid modules so that it's a relatively short beta period and not a lot of disruption.

I'm fine if it's 3 months before 6.1 and they keep refining 6.0

I decided to not update from 5 until they include that. Honestly, I hate the whole way Bitwig deals with groove. Sometimes I think I want to go back to Ableton Live.

I’m looking forward to seeing ARA support in Bitwig 6.1.

Post

- ARA
- groove pool (as in ableton with groove extract from audio)
- light theme (for use in daylight)
- updated manual (come on..)
- not reloading the plugins after changing the buffer size, they fixed it half way in bitwig 6, there is no plugin reload anymore in bitwig 6 when you change your audio interface, but still only when changing the buffer size. (not sure if this happens on windows, I'm on mac)

If they really decide to not let users turn off the Detail Editor having a mind of its own I may reluctantly leave this DAW, as much as I love it, but that feature drives me insane.
Also, a user manual, ffs...

Already this long and still no beta is really interesting. I think this is my first "one year of upgrades" that lead to absolutely nothing else than bw6. A version I cant even use bc of their design choices.

Still interested in what they'll do in the future but will not upgrade for many years after this, that is for sure. And if they dont fix the things I mentioned in a previous comment, will never upgrade again, period. The value for money here was absolute 0/5 for me regarding the last yearly upgrade price but I guess this is a lesson to never "pre order", even with a daw one previously trusts, and use the year in a lot smarter way. I was too keen to try 6 out in the beta and never could have guessed that it'd drag out so damn long, lol.

Ps. Oh and Mattly, yes I am in the discord with a different nick and sent them emails about the multitrack midi disaster especially in the beginning of the beta. Will still have to write another one now that it is on stable release also.

Psps. I'm also leaving BW and moving to Cubase/Nuendo or Reaper (and maybe ableton on the side), haven't made up my mind yet. I already use Reaper heavily for sound design stuff, so maybe there but let's see, they still lack many features still like Atmos mixing. Although Protools seems to be leading on that front as of now anyways lol.

Good day to everyone and fun to read all of yalls thoughts!

It’s been almost a month since the last update. It looks like they started working on 6.1 or they run into a particularly nasty bug and they have been fixing it for a whole month.
Usually next versions appear after approx. 6 months of the development - so we need to be patient.
My plan ended month before beta, and although 6.0 is full of improvements from my wish list I waited for the final release. It took so long and at the end some other kver planted a seed of uncertainty in my head with the Idea of waiting a little bit more for 6.1... and now I am waiting for 6.1 :)

You jinxed it :D  not being serious, but....
Bitwig Studio 6.0.7 (Pre-release) [released 28 May 2026]

So yep, hopefully 6.1 beta might not be too far behind. Fingers crossed.

Or they fixing the documentation: The Bitwig Studio User Guide is currently being overhauled.

Programmatic automation generation in arranger, let us place clips in the arranger via API, and so much more. Obvs I'm working on a controller script and don't have access to a lot of things that would really open it up to some incredible new things.
This is my biggest hope as well. I'm a bit surprised the arrangement view got no love. A simple method to create clips on the arrangement window and give them IDs would be a huge game changer.
