Revamped Automation Editing - minor improvement
Alias Clips - minor improvement, not something I really needed
Global Scales - don't use
Midi Step Input - don't use

I can't remember the last new feature that significantly improved my quality of life with the software.
The fact that these new features aren't that impactful for you personally doesn't change the fact that v6 was packed with new features and QOL improvements and far from being a stability and maintenance release. If anything, I'd expect 6.1 to be more of a minor, incremental update after v6.

Sure... if you don't use the new stuff, then that's just how it is.

I responded because you said "...the main thrust of 6 was about internal stability and setting a foundation for the future."

V6 is probably to biggest Bitwig upgrade to date as far as new features.

Meh. I don't think most impartial observers would compare the last 2 years of Bitwig's releases vs. Ableton's and conclude that Bitwig has been outperforming Ableton on the new feature front.

Which was the entire point of my original comment, and IMO that's not a particularly controversial observation.

The Ableton´s themselves had long long times with just fighting against bugs and not much to show in terms of feature improvement...
V12 is outstanding... and they seem to be on fire atm... yes... but some versions before weren´t so well either...

You cannot compare software 1:1 in the same time period...

What I would like to see is GRID 2.0 with improvements, like:
- module grouping / encapsulation for template creation
- multiple individual audio outputs support (withhout the DC trick)
- improved search of the placed GRID objects (easily highlight elements in a very complex GRID)
- some more modules

What are your GRID 2.0 ideas?

3rd party plugins inside the grid!

For me, Bitwig has been outperforming Ableton for the simple fact that I don't use Live, so their updates do nothing for me.

I also enjoyed Reaper right up until the day I left it. The door is always open for a better tool.

My bad tho, I thought this was a feature discussion thread and not a fanboy slobber thread. I'll show my way out.

I finally started using Bitwig 6 a bit this weekend. I have multiple DAWs grabbing my attention at the moment (Reason 14 just came out and its pretty nice).

Here are my requests:
- Retrorecord
- Sampler+ (with slicing and warping please)
- Drum Machine+
- please for the love of Pete fix choke groups. They suck now and have since whenever they added them.
- Slice templates and drum pad templates
- I still feel like they need to revisit the browser again. It still feels clunky since v5.
- Maybe a nicer algorithmic reverb would be nice
- The step device is kind of weak imo. They really needed to do something more interesting there. What they have is not good enough imo. I'm not a huge step editor user so this one isn't critical for me.

Other than that I think its pretty solid. I really like the changes to the PR and that's been my biggest gripe/ask for years.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine
