SynthMaster 3.5 Win/Mac
SynthMaster 3.5 iOS
SynthMaster 4.0 Win/Mac/iOS
Right now, we are in a very bad situation financially, so I can't risk anything. If I knew that Linux would bring us a substantial amount of customers I would have done it, but I am not hopeful about that so it is still a low priority for us until we break even.

I have an issue that only popped up recently. In Win 11, as most will know, the AV/Malware protection is a lot more aggressive than in previous versions of the system.
While I could speed up loading times of my DAW and Plugins by adding exception folders that are excluded from realtime scanning - this did nothing to Synthmaster 3. It takes about 2 minutes to load the first instance in a project (follow-up instances load way quicker) and I can see the AV working in the task manager. Is there a constructional issue or did I just not cover all folders, that Synthmaster uses? I excluded the VST 3 folder it is in and the SM3 folder in documents.
Oh, and one addition: It used to load fast even on Win 11 without the exception folders. It was one of the last 3 or 4 SM3 updates, that introduced it, but I couldn't be any more specific.

Thankfully, Synthmaster 3 runs perfectly on CachyOS with Wine 11.11 staging and the latest Yabridge Alpha.kv331 wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 6:34 pmaudiojunkie wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 6:01 pm I understand. I will wait with patience and hopefulness.![]()

Hi guys, I am back to SynthMaster 3.5 development and I have some design questions to you guys after looking into Serum 2 workflow:
1. Serum 2 has separate Octave and Semitones parameters for each oscillator. There's also a separate coarse/fine pitch (we have those in SM1/2/3 as well). I think this is useful for fast workflow, what do you think?
2. Serum 2 has introduced Mod Matrix Remap curves for each mod matrix entry. There are actually 2 separate curves for Source and Via (they call i Aux in Serum 2). In SM 1/2/3 we have a single curve with a single line segment. Is anyone using Mod Matrix Remap curves when design sounds? BTW, I am not planning to introduce separate remap curves for source and via (aux). Only 1 curve.
3. Serum 2 also introduced rise/fall smoothing in mod matrix entries, much like an attack/decay envelope follower. Would that feature be useful?
Thanks

Very cool, thank you!kv331 wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2026 2:37 pm Hi guys, I am back to SynthMaster 3.5 development and I have some design questions to you guys after looking into Serum 2 workflow:
The Serum way of handling pitch makes tons of sense to me.kv331 wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2026 2:37 pm 1. Serum 2 has separate Octave and Semitones parameters for each oscillator. Octaves are quick, straight forward.
Semitones, gives me intervals.
Fine, well finetuning is needed, lol.
Coarse is there for the BIG modulations from LFO to highest pitches. Great.
Mod Remaps are one of the coolest features in Vital.kv331 wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2026 2:37 pm 2. Serum 2 has introduced Mod Matrix Remap curves for each mod matrix entry. audio rate modulations, scale mapping, ON/OFF switches, retriggers, etc.
Using them.
I highly recommend the Mod Matrix in Vital as a model.
The idea to have the Matrix itself as destination is brilliant.
That seems more natural to me than the Serum way.
In Vital a Remap curve is "just a curve" that can be used in the LFOs too. So cool!
On top of that in Serum you can reorder the entries of the Matrix which is useful.
Cool remapping:

I don't use Serum, but I also love Vitals modulation setup - the transfer curves are very useful like whassup said.
I also find the option to restrict pitches to a specific scale quite cool - right in the oscillator.
Lots of good stuff in the voice stack as well.
Looking forward to what you come up with and the new skins!
Thank you!
Tom
