In the absence of evidence that'll have to do but I doubt if you could even manage that.

No shit!

The one that uses integer math, if it is a VST host is converting floating point numbers to integers, doing some processes on them, converting them back to floating point numbers to be processed by other vsts, before finally converting them all back again for final mix down.

It's entirely probable that you'd get a different bit level output out of such an engine. You;d have a hard job convincing me that the differences would be mathematically significant above the level of human hearing though, and an even hard time convincing me that this method is any better than a complete end to end floating point method.

Do try though, I'd love to hear your reasons...
especially if there are any design flaws.
A design flaw? In adding mubers togther?
Ther could also be clipping at the mix bus that while not producing distortion, can effefct overall sound quality.
See, this is exactly the junk science I hate. How the hell can you have "clipping" that isn't "distortion"? If it changes the sound in any way it is fundamentally distortion! At least try and have a clue before you go around calling people names.

And why the f**k would there be clipping in the mix bus in a floating point system anyway?
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

No, I know what it is. I just didnt like the tone of your posts - and wont respond until you act like a human being instead of an asshole.

A shitload of people say christ died on the cross to atone for our sins.

Poor design.

Maybe you should talk to people like Allen Yoshida at A and M mastering.

Look, it's Tracktions big day today. Lets not get into a war with this now. It's not worth it.

Apologies to all in this thread for any unpleasantries.

When I can I will try and back up my experience. Until then, it's all rather pointless.

Please, if you have any facts, I´m listening. But if you´re just speculating, please tell that before you raise any unecessary worries. :?

Tracktion will sound as good as you make it sound.

Same with Cubase.

Its just more fun with Tracktion!

I´ve noticed... :D

In fact, this may sound like a commercial, but after years of struggling with Cubase, since I found Tracktion my hopes have returned of getting some serious music making done! :band:
