This worked pretty well actually. Will have them incoming and maybe I can include some more detailed specs so anyone else can use and agent. That does sound like a good feature request thoughjamcat wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2026 5:19 pm Why not ask your AI agent to create a bank of interesting presets for you?
It should already know the full specs. Or you could provide it with an example preset.
Does Focus Time have a random setting button? If so, that’s a quick way to make a bunch of presets yourself.

Thanks for your support. I figured you'd like some of these things I've been working. You should check out the monster synth I'm building. Better yet make those synths bro, it's absolutely worth the effort. If you are on mac, get xcode to build, juce as the platform and just spend 20 bucks on gpt.morphex wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 5:24 pm I’m looking through the list of entries to decide which plugins I’d be willing to install and test. And I see a ton of potential for wildly creative mangling with Focus Time. The description of features included with your YouTube video, states that FT comes with a port of PaulXStretch onboard. That alone makes me want to give this a try.
Fortunately, I just read that you released an AU version for us Logic Pro users. So thank you for that consideration Timothy. In regards to the drama that’s been mentioned in this thread, I’m completely in the dark about the details. And I’m perfectly okay with that, as long as Focus Time meets the standards set by KVR moderators. I trust their judgment.
I think that maintaining fairness and a level playing field, is crucial for a contest that’s open to everyone. Also, I think that most of us already expected several entries that would be considered vibe-coded, or AI-assisted. It would be really cool if we could set aside the infighting around this topic, even if it’s only for the duration of the challenge.
I have my own strong opinions about it. But I would much rather celebrate people’s creativity, and their unique vision for their own software creations. I’ve had several ideas for cool VST’s over the last couple of decades. And I can imagine the excitement of bringing those ideas into fruition. So good luck to everyone involved.![]()

Exactly, if possible that would be really great!Touch The Universe wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2026 7:10 pm…nordickvr wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2026 1:34 pm Found this one quite interesting.
A feature that would be highly appreciated would be adding a “trigger from beginning” option when triggered via midi since at the moment it continues from where it stopped .
Or did I missed something?
And even better, having the option to trigger from any position controlled by the mod wheel!
Not sure what trigger any postion controlled by modwheel, is that selecting a start position in the loop? I can likely make those available in the master section.

Just started watching this now.
If there isn't already, please put a "disengage samples" or "detach samples" (that may be included and saved with it) button in the preset window task bar. This will allow loading a user sample, and individually selecting, or scrolling through the presets sequentially or randomly, to see the effects it will have.
As long as the button is selected, the loaded user sample will not be replaced... AND, a button above the sample window task bar, for "render-in-place" or "render/load copy" of any effected sample, to be able to 'apply' the effect, and simply continue testing various presets, would be pleasantly expedient.
Also a "save incrementally" button in the presets panel, with a user assignable keyboard hotkey to enable, which simply adds a number sequentially to the name of any subsequent saves, on a previously named and currently selected preset.
This is such a common procedure with synths and samplers, that I'm still (after 40+ years) amazed by the number of devs that do not automatically make this task available.
Thank you.

I’ve been continuing to work on Focus Time and have made quite a few improvements based on the feedback I’ve received during the contest. The difficulty is that I’m no longer completely sure which changes are acceptable as bug fixes or small workflow improvements, and which would count as adding too many new features after submission.
For the time being, I will probably release another update containing only the clearest bug fixes. I may hold the larger additions until after the contest, although I am still deciding what to do.
To be honest, I would rather continue improving the plugin now, while people are actively trying it and giving feedback. This is when I have the interest and momentum to work on it. If I freeze development until the contest is over, there is a real chance I will simply move on to another project rather than return later with the same motivation.
At the same time, I understand the fairness issue. The more I continue adding, the more I can see that additional development time can make the entry considerably better. Other developers may have kept their submitted builds stable, so it would not necessarily be fair for me to keep expanding mine indefinitely while voting is underway.
That leaves me juggling a few possibilities:
release only the verified bug fixes and keep the official contest build stable;
keep the larger additions in a separate development build until the contest ends;
release the newer feature build now and accept that it might make the entry ineligible;
or, if possible, continue participating only as a non-prize or showcase entry so I can still receive feedback without unfairly competing for the prizes.
I am still trying to get a clearer ruling before deciding.
New features and workflow additions being considered
Pattern Sync: Free / First Note
Drag-and-drop sample loading
Master Amp ADSR
Master filter, resonance, filter ADSR, and envelope amount
Polyphony options up to 64 voices
Top-tab Solo / Unsolo
Standalone double-stop rewind
Tempo-based launch quantization
Export Bank / Import Bank with FLAC conversion
Aqua browser styling and smaller preset text
Keymap window opening in front
Sample Start / End handles
Non-destructive sample trimming
Stretch Full Mix / Root Bed / 3 Beds
Stretch Root Note, Key Track, Mix, and Output controls
Preset and compatibility improvements
Routing-mode preset recall
Old-preset tab migration
Embedded preset-name recall
Bug fixes
Play/Stop no longer covers editable curve nodes
Formant no longer displays the Harmonic Spread curve
Selecting Formant no longer causes a volume jump
Removed the unwanted root-note layer in MIDI mode
Fixed sample-accurate MIDI timing
Master Clear now clears all tabs, Grains, ghost curves, and Harmonic Spread
Improved release-tail and note-off behavior
Prevented sample attacks from retriggering during release
Restored missing tab Solo and preset functionality
Fixed frozen MIDI playheads
Fixed tabs blinking without ever launching
Routed MIDI audio through the actual Focus Time effect engines
Removed hidden dry audio in Standalone and MIDI modes
Fixed launch timing with long samples
Fixed bank-export compilation and UI problems
Added anti-crackle routing and ring-buffer corrections
Fixed several JUCE compatibility and compilation errors
Some of these additions are clearly larger than others, and a few sit somewhere between bug fix and workflow improvement. That is exactly why I am uncertain about where the line should be drawn.
I am not trying to quietly transform the entry while retaining every competitive benefit. I am trying to decide how to make use of the feedback and momentum that exist right now without being unfair to the other entrants.

I have updated the plugin on BOTH windows and MAC so it can export and import banks and it has drag and drop samples support. Redownload and install from here.
https://www.kvraudio.com/product/focus- ... roductions
Here is the Factory Bank, which has 470 presets and 500MB of Flac samples. It is too big to upload at kvr, hence the google drive link.
Things are a bit messy naming wise. This is more of a first draft of the factory. The final version might have less presets because they would be more curated and quite a bit more pad/pluck/bass etcs, but for now this should be a good start!
I included a rough manual as well.
Download the bank and then click import bank from the browser and it should work
Let me know how it goes, good or bad please.

I just tested the windows version. It is working.
Please lower the plugin by 10db guys. I have not volume normalized the patches so they won't clip or be even between them, apologies. That will likely take a day or two.
Also, some patches might not make a sound when clicking. The ones that do are set the default standalone mode so you don't need to draw anything in the daw. If using in a song, set to MIDI then trigger it that way. I'll fix this later.
If a preset is not making a sound, it is either:
1. The patch is set to trigger by midi (standalone will audition immidiately)
2. It's a rare blank patch. It'll work but you need to load a sample.
Besides these hiccups, hopefully this is better than not having a factory for a few days.
There might be too many presets at this point. Ideally, I'd only want to showcase the best 64 or something, but for now, you can go deeper if you'd like. I have begun adding normal PD, or PL patches. You can play these normally, I hope.
I say that because I'm getting confused. At one point I fixed a ton of stuff so you can load multisamples and then make a normal melody, like pluck, then it will kind of behave like an insert fx and not retrigger at the start of the sample. This might have been a feature, though, which I left out.
I will need to check this eventually, apologies for the confusion but I am sitting on another version that has a ton more features already but I'd get disqualified if I share it, I think. So I need to actually see if this version I uploaded has this feature. I'm limiting myself because t's actually unclear, what constitutes a feature or a bug or which feature is too big. I might need to even roll back some of these features if they decide it is too much.
Hope you guys are digging it.

I have to admit that the actual version for me is not really useable inside my daw for playing an existing midi track, so I would really like the "best of" 64 presets version you are thinking about
Might only be me but I need to test it inside my usual workflow and see what it can do there for me. But I really appreciate the work you have already set into it and I dont think being "polite" will help in anyway (especially as you know far better then me where it is now and are really honests about it what I appreciate a lot)
And as I know your skills as a sounddesigner I am sure these 64 presets will be top notch then
