I'm actually cooking up a JUCE project which is a rewrite of some of the stuff I've been sitting on. I'm going to start working on it next month, so I'll likely be pestering you all with JUCE questions. ;)

I'm also thinking of re-doing MChord to be something more akin to an arp. I may do that first actually, cos it sounds like fun...

Valley sorry to hear that crap but it doesn't surprise me ,You have made some good plugs and its a shame this happens to developers ,Some of the remarks made to Karbon where stunning and i dont blame him for not releasing Stepform ,Still did ya see it when it was going detachable pattern buttons and shrinkable interface ,He was even looking into making it a native T filter so you could have a beatcout directly on the timeline without the plug being open ,I used to chat with KLF online and while i was surfing i had the pattern buttons nestled in the corner of the screen so i could jam and surf at the same time ,Anyway im away on one now so i best go and get Stepform out ;)

jtx i cant tell ;) YET

yeah, that's why I was dissappointed when he decided to put the project on ice.

Having a sizable, cross-platform, stepchild would have rocked.

NAS, yeah I did know you and Karbon were partners, that's why I mentioned the Stepchild rewrite (was it called Stepforms then? I never picked up on that ...)

Anyhow, the worlds full of nutters, and neither him or valley should be put off, 'cos they've both done some great stuff. I'd definitely like a look at Stepforms, whatever stage it's at.

A mate of mine works for f**k, i can't remember the name of the website, but a sort of "promote liverpool" style website (It's great! Come visit! No'one will steal your motor! etc), and she got feedback from the online feedback form this week that read "Will you c**ts stop f**king popping up on my f**king computer!!! f**king wankers!!!"

No idea what that was about, but made us all laugh.

Chico i'll ask Karbon and from this thread and the positive comments i may be able to get him to do something but like i said before he is really really busy at the mo ;)

No worries mate. If he's up for it, I'm sure there's an audience here who would appreciate it

Im sure Mod was talkin of his own new version of Stepchild back when we were hitting the port ,He's using JUCE now i think so maybe he might have something coming up aswell (I think it was a modular Stepchild though)

Wooo ... bring it on :D

So who's doing the audio editor then? Is that still on the go? And anyone who fancies doing a JUCE beat-slicer that works in Tracktion would get lots of beers from me

Not that i'm greedy, mind

As existing users, we should really only be interested in the features, and this stuff is not really about us.
Yes, but we're still affected. Even if I were just starting out, I can tell you right now that the only plugin on that list that I'm even remotely interested in is Big Tick's "Cheeze Machine," and that's already available for free.

One of the most attractive features of Tracktion, to me, was the price. I understand the overhead involved in boxing T2 and putting it in Guitar Center, and that doesn't bother me at all. There's also an expected price increase due to all the work done on new features. But I hope that all those plugs didn't contribute to the higher price. It really is like paying for things you don't want or need.

You know i thought i was gonna get blasted but it seems theres a lot of folks would like a no plugin version for less ?

I'm sure they must do. However, the market out there is made up mostly of people who want to know what they can buy, take home, and be producing stuff on in a single day. That means they need plugins and lots of them. If Mackie didn't include the plugs, it'd just be paying Jules to write Tracktion native stuff that everyone would have grumbled about anyway. Even at $80 you'd be amazed how many people grumbled that Tracktion didn't have any decent built in synths or whatever.

I dunno about you, but I don't know what the upgade price is going to be. Until I know that I'm reserving judgement.

A few weeks back, everyone was complainign that T2 was feature light - despite the fact that no-one knew what features were left to be announced. Then two new features were added, and everyone paniced that there was too much stuff and it'd be horribly expensive. As it is, it came in about the standard point in the market for a similarly specced sequencer (FL might just have the edge on features).

Let's wait and see. It seems from what Mackie posted on their site that we will know within a few weeks. It isn't going to kill us all, to stay calm until we know what the deal is. ;)

because everyone is so reactionary... then the hypotheses start forming, and information starts getting twisted. When ultimately things become clearer as time progresses. MSRP is always high, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it cheaper in all honesty.. but we all have to operate on the it being $199. However, you will have the option to upgrade... so it will be less than than the $120 MSRP based difference.

Anyways another example, someone earlier posted something along the lines of worrying about T being Box only. When NOTHING on the realease says anything like that...

What is says is the following:
T2 is the first version of the acclaimed software that will be sold "out of the box" in retail stores and will be available in early March 2005.
That translates to this will be the first version of tracktion available in stores. It says nothing about it not being downloadable.

These things keep occuring as people worry.. and it just kinda trips me out because we don't have all the info necessary to honestly make conclusions.
