T2 worries

I find it really hard to belive that RMIV is gonna be a full version. The shear size of the release, with that and the loops, makes it impractical. I still look forward to playing with it though.

ModuLR, I like the way you see things on here.
No need to apologize for it, you're one of the sensible ones. Now, about that JUCE Stepchild....
Regarding T2's value: am I the only person here who think that the real value in the upgrade is the workflow improvements? And we got the improved MIDI as requested... and we got the looped audio recording. It's like people focus only on the most recent news. OK, so you didn't like the list of plug-ins. I'm completely thrilled even if RMIV doesn't come with a full set of kits (which it may, there's the reactionary thing again... we just don't KNOW yet!).
To sum up-- we got a shitload of new features OTHER than just some free plug-ins bundled with the app. THOSE are the things that make the upgrade worthwhile. Hiding the input section to recover real-estate? Brilliant and Tracktion-like!
Don't lose sight of the forest for the trees and all that....

Linplug could also be preparing a new version, and could be doing what Mackie did with T1, giving it away. It gets people interested, and they upgrade.
Just like everyone doubted Mackie for giving away Tracktion, though it seemed to be a good move. I think it will be a full version(maybe missing a few kits though).

Oh, the engine will be full, for sure. It'd be more work to program a new 'cut down' version of the actual engine. But there might be some kits missing. I suspect it will include the kits from the original RMIV, but not all the kits from the latest upgrade. Just speculation, though, with no actual foundation.

Well I'm in the happy camp
The price sounds about right and I for one look forward to the plug ins coming with T2.
There was no way everyone would get all of their wishes answered, unless Jules spent the next year working on the 3 page list of must have features... and by then you all would have moved on!
Glass half full people, quit being so negative.
I also have a prediction for Tracktion. I think in the next few months we'll see a limited CM version of Tracktion replace CM Muzys
They need a good entry level cross platform sequesncer and Tracktion has to be it.

I agree that it makes sense; however, there's been no word from either party yet. Let's just hope! That way we can whole-heartedly recommend Tracktion CM to newbies who ask where to start.Kiwiboyus wrote:I also have a prediction for Tracktion. Now, don't flame me if I'm wrong, but I believe I was the first one to recommend the idea that there may be a CM version(being version 1). I didn't see it being suggested anywhere else(I can't be everywhere, ya know!) Did this speculation all stem from my comments? If not, where is there more talk about it.
And if it was my idea, and they used it because they liked my idea, do I get compensation? Maybe a free T2 upgrade?
Or I could just pay for it. I just wish they would let me pre-buy it already. The money is waiting Mackie! Where's the option to buy?
Or I could wait like everyone else. Hehe, I'm ready for it all to come now!

you know i was thinking about this earlier, it probably wouldn't be to hard to do this and have it integrate with the sampler...chico.co.uk wrote:Wooo ... bring it on
So who's doing the audio editor then? Is that still on the go? And anyone who fancies doing a JUCE beat-slicer that works in Tracktion would get lots of beers from me

There's a lot of beer in it for you if you fancy it. Beer till you're completely sick of beer. But don't let the prospect of being sick of beer put you offjtxx000 wrote:you know i was thinking about this earlier, it probably wouldn't be to hard to do this and have it integrate with the sampler...chico.co.uk wrote:Wooo ... bring it on

still no news on the sampler and the other T1 plugs?
I wonder if they've been worked on as well

Hey! You know, that's a really good idea. Mackie wouldn't even have to change their current strategy. The boxed version of Tracktion would have all the plugs, and if you purchased a downloadable version you could get it either with the plugs for the normal price, or without for less, like $120 or $150. Sound reasonable? It might be worth petitioning Mackie for such an arrangement. I doubt it would be difficult for them to do.Nu Audio Science wrote:You know i thought i was gonna get blasted but it seems theres a lot of folks would like a no plugin version for less ?
But then again, if they paid an up-front license fee for distribution of these plugs, they're not going to be able to recoup that expense by selling a non-bundled version for less... so maybe it wouldn't work.
Still, might be worth asking.
