I didn't notice one thing that didn't look like T1 except for the inputs.

I'm really dissappointed that they didn't change some of that wasted screen space, especially since that was a Mac in the demo. that empty menu bar and all those menus taking up space at the bottom is really a drag.

I was hoping for Live style hiding of areas. if you ever tried to edit on a 12" iBook you'd understand.

Actually T2 can hide the filter section and the input section aswell. So its MUCH more efficient with screen space. I havent seen it in action but this is what I get from the strip-tease.

They guy sure did a weak job of demoing tracktion. If I walked away from that I would really think its a amature program.

What a lame demo. He should be fired. Beno, I hope that wasn't you :P

I've seen Beno's picture on the Mackie site and that wasn't him. What was with the lame ass goggles on his head :? I think they could have had someone who looked a little more professional looking.

Hey, what do you expect? He's a self-described 'Product Evangelist'.

I think those goggles come with T2. To protect your eyes from all the new color schemes.

T2 - The future is so bright he wears goggles :D

He didn't even address what sets T2 apart from the pack, he didn't know how many plugs were bundled nor announce the most impressive ones, he really did a half-assed job of stuttering through the 'demo', He didn't just look unprofessional, he did absolutely nothing to make me want to buy T2. That's the whole point of demo'ing software at a tradeshow.

It's my guess T2 isn't a high priority with Mackie, they are probably just hoping it will help generate hardware sales.

hey

go easy on the guy, for all we know someone stuck a camera on him and said "talk for 5 minutes". I doubt if any of us could do better.

on the other hand, it was lame, so why did they do that? and why not give us some real information? hay-zeus-freackin-a-christo, throw me a bone already, I'm trying to make some buying and working decisions!

anyway, i don't think that guy should personally take all the blame.

I agree. I dont think we should be too hard on that guy. He definitely kept it ULTRA basic tho :x . I think his look matched the Tracktion theme. Tracktion is about having fun and being different. Not about being stuck up wearing a white lab coat and speaking with a fake German accent.

<grumbles>

f**king HATE having to install Real player and Quicktime all the fricking time... and no, before anyone suggests it, the RealAlternative did NOT work.

Well, the only way to find out is to see for yourself. It wasn't the best demo ever, but I can't slag the guy. It wasn't his job to overview all the 'new' features so much as to show Tracktion in general.

A working demo may have been more effective (ie. recording a track, using a virtual plug-in, etc), but for an "on the spot" sort of thing, I guess it was all that could be expected. Doesn't look like there's new project directory management or plug-in list management features, which is too bad. But not deal-breakers, so I'll live. ;)
