1: Point your MIDI icon to the track with the VST synth.
2: Point the AUDIO icon to another track.
3: Make sure you are NOT in LOOP MODE !!
4: Play your controller and hit RECORD button. This should work
Hope this helps.
Heh, I already asked what you're using to play the initial note.trappist wrote:I just wanted to use it as a textural background, and since it plays itself and didn't respond to the Triton at all, I decided to "play" WOF's front panel controls instead. I started tweaking volume levels, cutoff, resonance, drum settings etc. while it did its thing--hoping to get a recording of that.....then lay down other (audio) tracks with it.
I have a MIDI to USB interface and it works fine. As stated earlier, I use the Triton for a controller, and it works great with every softsynth plugin. But...."Wheel of Fortune" is an unusual softsynth. It doesn't do anything when I press the Triton keys, except maybe drift a little from its "electronic melody." I can't actually play anything useful with it. So--there is no need to start a first note, because once you drag it into a track, it starts.Heh, I already asked what you're using to play the initial note.
