Well, you have included synths in your list on page one that are using stock SE filters, like for instance Elektrostudio and TubeOhm

Elektrostudio is using his own modules.
As alraedy mentioned the UVI libraries use "stock filters" from Mach Five 3 too...
BTW i am not judging the quality of all those emulations in the list. If that would be the case it would be much shorter...
My only "qualiy" statements are the fact which ones i use myself. Those are usually marked with yellow color.

Elektrostudio is using his own modules, indeed, but I did read somewhere that none of them is actually a custom-coded filter module.

I have already added some sampled instruments to my list and wil maybe add the UVI ones too but agaian the UVI JX-3P is NOT an emulation based on modeled components (based on the synths they want to emulate).
Based on my experience sample based synth got great problems reproducing e.g. free adjustable pulsewidth or PWM with multiple amount settings.
Same about a continuous waveform selector like in e.g. the Moog Little Phatty.
If i would only add emulations that are close to the hardwarre the list would be VERY short...
As alraedy mentioned those are not added due to to their quality. I have also not tested all of them.

Well, if modeled components were your criterion, your list would be even shorter
In many cases people go like this: Wow, that is a nice vintage synth, I could do an emulation. Let's make a nice user interface reminiscent of the original, provide more or less the same features and try to make it somehow sound similar to the original
Anyway, never mind, I don't care if you add them or not. I just mentioned those two synths as I thought you might have forgotten them...

It's not like i just mentioned but there are some misunderstandings concerning how the UVI emulations work. Anyway originally i planned to only include modeled plugins indeed. Later i even added iPad synths.fluffy_little_something wrote:Well, if modeled components were your criterion, your list would be even shorter![]()

Maybe i'll radically clean that list at some point and only leave emulations that are at least close to the synths they want to emulate (and those i was able to test myself) which would exclude several of the SE ones indeed...
Not sure if you had a look at those two:

I don't think it's worth the trouble. It is nice to have a complete list
Maybe it would be better to give them marks depending on their degree of authenticity, like 1 to 5 stars. And no star for those you have never tested.

That would be cool, even though it's pretty much in the eye of the beholder of course if these are really close. I don't know if you have all the hardware to be able to do accurate A/B comparisons...Ingonator wrote: Maybe i'll radically clean that list at some point and only leave emulations that are at least close to the synths they want to emulate (and those i was able to test myself) which would exclude several of the SE ones indeed...
Pretty nice list though. Comes really handy if you want to check out those plugins.

Interesting. I had read that before, the JX-3P and the Juno 60 shared several components, which is why I suggested Patrick do an emulation of the JX-3P as he could probably reuse a lot of codeIngonator wrote: Not sure if you had a look at those two:

I used to have the JX-8P, my first synth, but only because it was used and thus cheaper. I would have preferred the JX-3P instead, it had a superior sound in my view...

I am "marking" those that i use myself (use, not just tested shortly) with yellow color which is at least a kind of "quality" statement.fluffy_little_something wrote:I don't think it's worth the trouble. It is nice to have a complete list

I could mark those i already tested with a different color.
UPDATE:
Additionally to those i have marked with yellow already I started marking plugins i had owned earlier and/or have tested with orange color.
Also added UVI UVX-3P to the list.

Please don't clean the list up! It is nice to see what is out there, even if it is not 100% accurate, and this thread is the most complete list of Roland-esque software I know of.Ingonator wrote:It's not like i just mentioned but there are some misunderstandings concerning how the UVI emulations work. Maybe some kind of sorting and/or rating ha to be done at some point.
