Thanks I saw it, but 03.04.25 is not 03.11.25.
I thought on a Zebralette3 when Zebra3 (beta) is released in Q4 or so.
Thanks I saw it, but 03.04.25 is not 03.11.25.
Aah O.K., thanks !Urs wrote: Sat Apr 26, 2025 12:18 pm I'm optimistic that a Zebralette 3 release happens before a Zebra 3 release, or at least coincide with a Zebra 3 beta.
Glad to hear some sort of arp/sequencer will be part of Zebra 3 eventually. The mod-mapper looks interesting, and I want to try playing around with it some more in a Zebra legacy demo, but it seems like a different kind of entity. Maybe I just don't fully understand it. I like being able to set up 32+ step phrases whose velocities, pitches, and some adjustable gate control can be programmed simultaneously within software instruments. I hope this will be an eventual capability within Zebra 3.Urs wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:45 pmWell, hehehe, they won't be absent forever. But I want them to integrate nicely in the overall architecture. Not necessarily to replace what the DAW does, more like something to complement it and maybe have some live tweakable elements to them. A DAW only ever has MIDI, MPE or similar things it can send to a synth, but a synth like Zebra can have internal wires that can go beyond what "playing a note" is. Which might not suit everyone's needs, but I'd like to at least offer the possibility for those who wish to make use of itTj Shredder wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:34 pm I appreciate, that arps and sequencers won't be there! The Mapper as it is in Zebra 3 is not (yet) part of Zebra Legacy. Only a previous version is, with a lesser editor and without the actual sequencing capabilities.Uppity wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 5:56 pmGlad to hear some sort of arp/sequencer will be part of Zebra 3 eventually. Thanks for your reply! What you describe sounds interesting. I'll check it out on the Uhbik beta. And, of course, I'll look forward to Zebra 3!Urs wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 6:46 pmThe Mapper as it is in Zebra 3 is not (yet) part of Zebra Legacy. It is in the current Uhbik beta though, which is where we first developed it into a sequencer (on top of the original uses, which it still has).
The point of it is that, in itself, it's fairly stupid. It needs another modulation source, such as a LFO, the keyboard, an envelope or a wheel, whose signal it will take and transform into something else.
What's new is the completely reworked editor, which is a huge step forward and much more fun to work with, and the option to tyke a rhythmic signal (e.g. an LFO...) and use it as a clock to proceed through the steps.

Not perfectly, OK
But if Z3 could at least place its existing modules in a Z3 instance, opening a Z2 patch, it could help a lot.
It's like when Cubase or Reaper open a project in a computer where you don't have a given plugin : it makes an empty slot where it says "plugin missing", but at least, gives you the track's midi notes.
I think it's not too late to switch the name to Okapi![]()
Yes, it's looking good for that.WalterH wrote: Sun Aug 03, 2025 5:12 am Hello Mr.Urs! Can you post little update on Zebra 3 ? At least something, how's it going ?
In previous post, some months ago it was like that:
"So with some luck we'll have a public beta in Q4 2025, maybe even a release before the end of the year."
Can we still expect public beta in Q4 ?
It's appreciated
If you consider that the first evidence of people asking for Z3 was *before* Zebra 2 was released in 2006, then yes, nearly 20 years.
Well then, let's keep that tradition going ... I cannot wait for Zebra 4 !!!Urs wrote: Tue Aug 05, 2025 8:31 pm If you consider that the first evidence of people asking for Z3 was *before* Zebra 2 was released in 2006, then yes, nearly 20 years.
